Hayes is with his team mates in Dubai on a mid-season training camp currently, and that is where McInnes spoke out about the Cardiff interest.

' NEIL WARNOCK IS STILL INTENT ON SIGNING '

Even though Neil Warnock has been told to trim his squad during January, he is also still intent on adding a new goalkeeper, winger and striker and will go all out for the three of them :thumbright: :thumbright: :bluebird: :bluebird:

A lot of transfer negotiating goes on behind the scenes but I do have genuine concerns about our so called transfer committee,I'm not convinced that they have the expertise to bring in the right players at the right price

Jonny Hayes: Aberdeen confirm Cardiff contact over winger

BBC

Wednesday 11th January 2017

Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes has confirmed Cardiff City have made contact over a possible move for winger Jonny Hayes.

Cardiff manager Neil Warnock has spoken to McInnes about the player's availability - but no bid has been made.

Republic of Ireland cap Hayes, 29, is currently in Dubai with the Aberdeen squad for a winter training camp.

He is contracted at Pittodrie until May 2018.

Since joining the Dons in 2012, Hayes has helped Aberdeen win the Scottish League Cup in 2014 and finish as Scottish Premiership runners-up twice.

He started his career at Reading, moving on to Leicester City in 2007 and first coming to Scotland with Inverness Caledonian Thistle two years later.

In over 300 club appearances, Hayes has scored 51 goals - including 25 for Aberdeen.

Cardiff City are ready to make a new offer on for Aberdeen's Irish star Jonny Hayes, HITC Sport understands.

The Bluebirds have been on Hayes's trail for over 12 months and they have already seen a £500,000 bid turned down this month.

Cardiff are now ready to return with a bid worth £1million to try and tempt The Dons into selling, and HITC Sport understands that Aberdeen are looking at possible replacements.
