Money grabbing bastards they charged reading £45 last week

Re: ' From a Hull City fan '

Wed Jan 11, 2017 7:26 am

That's why if we ever pulled a big club like that again charge their supporters £65-70 a ticket at ours!

The trouble is Football gets slammed for its prices but it is an entertainment business these days and we are customers as opposed to Clubs and fans. I don't think that's right by the way.

Man Utd one of, if not the biggest Clubs in the World, Old Trafford an iconic stadium, theatre of dreams etc etc, some of the best players in Europe, semi final of the Cup. £55 is the going rate.

You compare that to going to see a show, a six nations Rugby match, Formula One, tickets to a big race day set etc and £55 isnt that bad.

Football has become one of those sports now that for many its a one iff experience, something that you go to now and again. Im amazed that Away Crowds remain so high at some Clubs, not that many people will have that much disposable cash to spend a couple of hundred quid on an away day once a month and time off work in some instances.

Fvcking hell £55!!! The first time I went to Old Trafford to see the city play there in 1975, it was 45 pence to get in

£55 a ticket !!!!!!!!

And only £24 at theirs - they should charge the same see the outcry then

£ 55 and no concessions is a disgrace. Like most on here football dominates my life but there's a big part of me that would rejoice if this all came crashing down.

Modern football is wrong on so many levels. With so much money in the game, and all going to the players and agents, its about time football gave something back to the man in the street, like money off the merchandise or cheap season tickets.

Bayern Munich charge £104 for a season ticket and say that they have a sponsorship deal which brings in more than the sales of ST, so the fans get something back.

Personally I wouldn't pay £55 for a ticket ever again

This is what's killing our game nothing else.

Re: ' From a Hull City fan '

Errr, how is that 'another owner' when it was at Old Trafford, nothing to do with Hull owner who if put his prices up in retaliation to the same amount as Manure then he probably would not be getting any Manure fans there to watch what is effectively a dead rubber.

Re: ' From a Hull City fan '

There should be a rule or agreement that each club agree a price for away fans for both clubs before the season starts

So we agree with brizzle £20. They charge us £20 and we charge them £20

We agree we Sheff Wednesday or Leeds £28. They charge us £28 and we charge them £28

Market forces are market forces and each club has its own agenda, but if the marketing managers agree a price before the season starts and how many ticket will be available it would be a lot "fairer"

Re: ' From a Hull City fan '

vaguely remember us doing that with someone, good idea.

Re: ' From a Hull City fan '

They should take issue with their own team too, who were pathetic last night and looked almost as disinterested in last night's game as our boys too. Fans paying that much money for that sort of performance have a right to feel disgruntled.

£55 is a rip off but because it's the cup, don't hull receive a share of the gate income??

If United had another team in semis, say Chelsea spurs arsenal Liverpool or even a list full of others, that end would have been full,no doubts about it,with hull this time it's clearly about the hatred of their owner, let's be honest if cardiff had 8,000 tickets up in old Trafford for a semi final, how many would we take?

Nowhere near 8000. Midweek, on tv and a long way away to a place where travelling is a nightmare.

Agree at the moment we can't even sell out bristol tickets, some clubs away support is growing, whilst ours along side other clubs have dropped big time

We only took something like 2,000 to Palace when we played them in the Semi Final of the League Cup, now that was embarresing.

Think we would take 3-4,000 tops if it was Man Utd at OT.

We took 6,000+ to Anfield in 2007 but the Valley Rams were still going then. The fact they folded is a massive reason in the decline of our away support IMO. A fact that often gets overlooked.

sure we had over 2000 there didn't we?, we were very close to not selling out the home tie as well if memory serves me right.

You are comparing a season long hobby to one off major events. They are incomparable.

Compare it to a ticket to the movies with popcorn and a drink and you will be closer to the mark to the price it should be. £20 max. £55 is an abomination.

If I remember correctly mate we took something like 2200 but could have had 4,000.

Palace took their ull allocation for the second leg and brought over 4,000.

Read my post again mate, I have said Football is 'becoming' one of those sports that for many is a one off experience, especialy for a Club like Man Utd so they can charge to come to their 'events' what other industries charge.

In that sense its entirely comparable.
