Can still remember meeting him at an open day the club held at Ninian park. Not many people knew him then as he had not long signed.
He was quiet polite and unassuming but we knew then he would be a legend.
Congrats Whitts here's to another 10 yrs at the club in one capacity or another (and well done DJ for signing him)

first season and start of second I believe he was mainly a substitute, but I remember I was bored in comp, and looked him up, and my friend was saying we should sell him if hes just a sub, and I remember distinctly telling him and a group of other mates that given a run of games, he would bag a few goals, after saying that, he then had the championship top scorer award

Think we should get a song going next home game about getting his contract sorted asap... still our best player 10 years later.
Hit a rough patch about 12 months ago but seems to be playing well again!

Top fella.
Whitts is Tom's first City 'scalp' in his autograph book and in his City photo collection.
Caught him on his way in to the match on Sunday.

I think if Super Kev got one for 7 or 8 years with us then whitts should 100% get one with us aswell, either way both of them deserve to have one and im glad super Kev's is only a couple of months away, im really looking forward to it and will look forward to whitt's testimonial when the club can manage to arrange it.

For me he's up there with the likes of Dwyer, Farquarson, Keenor, Murray etc. He's my favourite City player of all time. His contract runs out in the summer and he definitely should be given another one.

Class act on and off the pitch. Whitts is a true example of a pro and will hopefully stay in the club untill he retires.

I was an early teenager when i first went to the city with my mates and Dave Bennett was the bollocks to me.
But as a cynical fat nearly 50 year old I have to say watching this lad has been a pleasure. I have to admit i stopped going when Charlie Oatway was our midfielder, I genuinely thought i could do as well. Most of us with a modicum of talent and 100% commitment could do what he could.
When I watch Whitts I am watching a guy doing stuff i couldn't dream of doing. He is an artist. He see's things then executes and i just chuckle.
Now, I am a footballing dreamer, I pay my money and only see the things I want to. I don't see the fact that he is athletically ungifted and not a great tackler. I see that volleyed pass to Holiet for his goal, half of Bellamys assists, 90 odd goals on you tube, most from outside the box.
The ability to take a corner to such a level has got promoted and stopped us being relegated.
The latest "legend" after Joey.

Absolute legend never forget his goal against Barnsley.

I'm 59, and Whitts is the finest footballer that I have ever seen playing for the City. Always at Championship and Premier League level. Top bloke, as well. Always got time for the fans. A true legend.

Great to see Whitts praised on these boards. He's been a great player for us for the last decade and his contract must be sorted very soon.
I just love his goal anti-celebrations......so understated they are totally original.
Seen so many brilliant goals by him over the years and so many assists, especially from free-kicks and corners.
A lej!
