" What did we learn today? "

For me:

Fulham are a good team

29% Possession for City...

Emyr Huws is not good enough and will leave IMO. At times I forgot he was playing.

Greg Halford - He's either unfit or not very good, just looked lost. Connolly better than him on this performance.

Joe Bennet - Lack of pace or IMO Fredricks is just really quick, Harris didn't help him at all. Both goals from his side with Harris not in sight. :old:

Ricki Lambert - He's had his day, really slow he couldn't even harass the back four. :sleepy2:

Pilkington - I've said it before, has a goal in him but is too slow and basically I've never liked him so I'm biased. What did he do today? :banghead:

Jazz Richards - OK but did nothing going forward

Harris has one trick push it and use his pace. He's an impact player off the bench at best.    :banghead:

In short, people were given chances to impress and didn't. :(

Bamba, Morrison and Ralls were the only ones who battled at the rate we have come to expect. Murphy was fine in goal except for his attempt to dribble his way out of trouble.

When we signed Ricky Lambert the majority of this board reckoned he was going to be class and bang them in for fun.

The few of us that pointed out his legs had gone and hed been shit for the last 2-3 seasons were shot down in flames.

File him under 'another f**k up'.

I guess Warnock is gradually seeing who can handle playing decent opposition and who can't. Fulham played well and they are exactly the sort of side we will be playing. I know a lot of players today have not been regulars but they are all professional footballers and a lot are international ones. In a squad they all need to be able to step up and today they couldn't. In fact we had regular starters in 3 of the defence from 4 or 5. Pills and Harris have had a lot of game time and ralls is regular. Lambert has been one too. It should have been easy for the likes of huws to come in. Not like we put out a side of kids. Injuries to whitts or ralls could have made room for him in a league game. Not likely now unfortunately

I agree with most of your post, but how anyone can say Ralls battled or even played well is beyond me. He must have given possession away 5 or 6 times with loose passes. And 3 passes in a row he give it away. And at that point we were under pressure not being able to get the ball out of our own half. How he remains in the starting line-up ahead of O'Keefe is beyond me. Bamba was the only player who you can say anything positive about in that game, and Craig Noone actually done more in his 5 minutes attacking wise than any other player done in the whole game. Credit to Fulham they played some nice football, but our midfield was all over the place. There was no pressure on the ball whatsoever. Kadeem Harris was a complete waste of space today also, I can't remember him tracking back once, whether he was told to stay as advanced as he was only Warnock could answer. But if thta was the case you would have thought after going 2-1 down they would have told him to track back.

Every time we bring in a new manager or sign a player we are suddenly going to set the world on fire according to some on here. Quite a few of us said Lambert was not going to be the answer to our scoring problems, and I predicted he would not get to double figures this season, and in fact would probably spend a large amount of time sidelined because of injuries. As you say, we were shot down in flames because some on here were certain he would fire us towards the top of the league. Not sure where all this unfounded enthusiasm stems from.

Ralls did chase but to be effective that needs to be done as a team. He also needs an outlet... Lambert... I don't think he's the answer, but he did pick it up and go forward, he did have a shot saved. By comparison Pilkington did nothing, he's a winger who's now too slow, let's just move him on.

We'd have been better putting the development squad out with Bamba to lead them.

Re: What did we learn today?

Sun Jan 08, 2017 2:23 pm

Bamba the only one who looked class.

Ralls and Morrison were reasonable.
The rest of the outfield players were rubbish, simple as that.

Mark Harris is excused, he did OK in his 10 minutes.

Passing- rubbish
Tackling - weak
Movement- non existent
Closing down- pathetic
Composure- don't make me laugh... it was panic panic panic, back to the keeper and aimless boot.

Just hope this was a blip - we'll need to be better for the next 2 games or will be facing a massive relegation battle

Re: What did we learn today?

Our squad is very thin on talent.

And

Fulham are pretty good.

Re: What did we learn today?

That Trollope's signings - Lambert, Bennett, Huws and Richards were shocking! Poor on the ball, no fight or desire. No wonder Warnock had bombed them all out!

I'm with you on this and stated this at the time of his signing.
A panic buy and a total waste of money. If he plays he must have somebody alongside him to play to his strengths.
Ralls was hitting long balls to him today for him to run onto to ffs. It looked like he was running through quicksand.

Re: What did we learn today?

Ralls was a busy fool. The times he did win it back he just surrendered possession.

He did try though which is more than can be said for some others out there who just went through the motions.

Lambert has never been a lone striker we need legs around him.

Why Is kadeem Harris getting stick? He's been great all season for me ! Real threat , didn't think he played bad either today. Some people expect to much for players . It's the others which need to be slated !

I admit I was one of those who thought Lambert would turn out to be an excellent buy. His hold up play in the first few games was brilliant compared to what had gone before him.

However, despite getting some goals it became apparent that his legs are gone and he is fast looking to be a very bad signing.

That said I can't for one minute believe you were 'shot down in flames' as you have a record of standing your ground. What actually happened was you had one opinion some had another and there was an exchange of views.

History will always judge and on this occasion it would appear you are correct so it is posters like me who got it wrong who are shot down in flames on this occasion.

Just to put the record straight. :D

I suppose because Bennett is so crap he needs the winger to help him out

Actually I agree Harris for any faults he may have at least tries to get forward and make things happen. Personally I would want more from his end product rather than see him bail out a shit left-back.

100% I never said that,I had big doubts, but would give Lambert a chance like any other new City player :thumbright:

I agree with most besides I think Kadeem is a tryer and will get better along the way but he has a go and I'm happy with that also I think maybe we should judge the new singing halford playing along better players who care for city whits gunnerson peltier etc

Everybody gets it wrong sometimes mate.

When Warnock took over I genuinely thought we were going to kick on further than we have, I thought he would be able to get the best out of people like Pilks, Noone and a few others, I honestly thought we had a chance of being withing 6-7 points of the Play Off's by Christmas and then with a decent transfer window and a top striker could have kicked on and maybe nicked a play off place.

Steve Zodiak, I think it was Nubsy and a few others used to tell me I was living in cloud cuckoo land and they were obviously proved right :laughing6:

Biggest disappointment for me (& there were many) was Huws. When he came on the scene a few years ago, he looked the part.

He now looks lethargic & not interested. For one so young he is a massive let down.

I was really looking forward to seeing him today, put a show on and show the manager what you've got to offer... Not much was the answer and he should move on.

Agree...if we still had trollope in charge I think we would be in sh@t street...on the plus side current form on the 13 league games with Warnock in charge would put us top half w5 d4 L4 ...& that's with some of the shite inherited & only able to bring in free agents.
With a summer to plan for next season & bring in his choices I honestly believe we will be right up there next season & will comfortably avoid relegation this season.
