Dover v York match fixing?

Sat Jan 07, 2017 4:53 pm

Went to do my accumulator earlier and the bookies suspended betting on a draw for this game, which I thought was strange. I assume people in the know lumped big money on the draw at 3/1 and the bookies refused to take anymore bets.

Dover went 2-1 up with a penalty late on and York immediately equalised. The match just finished 2-2. Did anyone else notice this, I think the result has definitely been fixed!

Yeah game was likely fixed, usually a few games in conference are fixed a season, I won about £2500 other year on Dover winning HT FT via a fixed tipster on Facebook, knocked betting on the head now so don't look into.

That's very interesting. I wonder how many lumped on York to score the next goal at 9/2 when they were 2-1 down for those 5 minutes? I remember the bookies refusing to list Peterborough on the "both teams to score" coupons a few seasons ago as they always scored and conceded, but that was simply because Peterborough had a good attack and rubbish defense. But I've never come across anything as blatant as this!

The Beast scored his first goal for them today, fair play to him.

York have been struggling this season and Parkin missed some sitters on Saturday against relegation rivals North Ferriby which got to him a bit.

Good luck to York and two former Bluebirds Parkin and Lappin for the rest of the season.

As for match fixing? I know for a fact that you are wrong, bets just go that way sometimes.

If you know for a fact I'm wrong, please explain why the bookies would suspend bets on a draw before kick off? Dover are a far superior team to York a while I accept football is a funny game with funny results, the fact the bookies suspended bets on a draw and for the final result to be a draw is suspicious to say the least. I'm gutted for the poster losing £600. If you read books like The Secret Footballer, you will see match fixing does happen. As soon as they suspended bets on the draw, I knew the final result would be a draw. There's a reason why the bookies suspend a particular bet. The bookies know.

If they had fixed the match, wouldn't you think the players in the teams would be aware?

I know some of the York players were definitely not told that today's match was fixed.

Bookies suspend betting all the time when large sums of money are put on certain results, sometimes for good reason, many are false alarms. I completely agree that it does happen, but Dover Vs York today was not one of those occasions.

It was a free bet cos Carlisle let me down on Jan 2nd
5 out of 6 in a acca gives acca insurance = free bet
What this result meant is that I lost out on £600,
Carlisle losing on Jan 2nd meant I lost out on £700
Do I think it was fixed, No these result happens
But it is interesting what the original poster stated
I enjoy doing a coupon every week and if I thought
there was match fixing I would stop
