Fair play, you know someone that brings a mega chain like McDonald's to their home country has NO respect for their own people. There is still a few countries/towns/cities around the world that are fighting to keep these places away to protect their culture and local economy. Money is the only language these megalomaniac tycoons understand.

Why not put a tesco extra on every corner Vincent? that should see off all the local corner/grocery stores too.

Plenty of places all over the world that refuse chain stores to protect local economy and the health of the residents. Corsica is a prominent example that I can think of, they are extremely protective of their history and culture.

Byron Bay is one of the most famous holiday resorts in Australia and they won't let MacDonalds or Burger king there.

Have you ever been? A good friend of mine is from there. They aren't booming financially but the people there all have enough to eat, they are healthy and happy. But I suppose to most idiots in this country happiness is material wealth lol

Yeah. I've heard about lots of places in Italy like this. Beautiful authentic places protecting their towns. I wouldn't expect some of the tools on here to understand what it means to protect your identity.

Unfortunately polo, we were all brought up in a country saturated by things like McDonalds. So of course I have eaten one in my life - but, these days, I don't generally eat fast food and where practicable I support local businesses. Not that I would ever judge anyone for doing otherwise, but I do feel strongly about the effect these companies have on local businesses.

I hear what youre saying Nubbsy, and whilst Vincent Tan has done many things for Cardiff fans to complain about it does appear bitter lemons having a go at him for franchising Mcdonalds.

I'm inclined to agree though poor old vinny pales when you consider the impact that this country's had on other countries historically when it comes to importing its culture forcefully on others.

Byron is brilliant. It's a mental night out with a top beach. Margot Robbie was out on the lash there recently so I doubt North Korea would have better eye candy, beer or pies (ace meat pies down there)
