Neil Warnock has repeatedly said he will need to offload players to allow him to spend the money he wants to on reinforcements.

That process began today with Lex Immers leaving the club by mutual consent having signed permanently for the club only last summer.



"We’re still looking for two other positions, we’re getting linked with players every day. Some of them I’m interested in, some not so much."

Despite signing Meite, Cardiff are still thin on the ground for options up front. Kenneth Zohore has come in from the cold in recent weeks and after impressing with a goal against Brentford has quickly established himself as first choice

Rickie Lambert continues to be used as a late sub, and while Pilkington can fill in, it all leaves Cardiff a little short of firepower going forward.

Though Warnock has made no secret of his desire to bring in a new striker, he is also not prepared to dive into the market early and end up over paying for a player.

"We’re not in a rush, but we’re only one knock away from an injury. We’re thin on the ground for options up front.

"I asked about a player yesterday, but the club wanted two-and-a-half times what I offered. You've got to get value, later in the window you would be surprised by the ridiculous values some players can come in for, you get some really good deals."

Seems like this season will see a major spring clean of the squad and assuming we stay up, next season with NW given cash and a blank sheet of paper to piece together his squad, we may have good times around the corner.

Cardiff City have released two more players following the departure of Dutch midfield player Lex Immers.

Manager Neil Warnock has agreed that Tom Adeyemi can turn his loan move to Rotherham United into a full transfer, while Belgian teenager Marco Weymans has joined Cardiff’s sister club KV Kortrijk.



Warnock: "Tom will be staying with Rotherham he can play in their FA Cup tie (v Oxford United) this weekend,” said Warnock. “One or two younger lads may also be going out.”
