I suppose that's the argument for small capacity stadiums.Bournemouth for example no one can jump on their bandwagon unless they decide to expand the ground.

Very true, you could say when we left Ninian Park, 21,000 capacity incl away section, meant you never hardly had the glory hunters or fans who came to just watch the opposition , when we left Ninian Park we were averaging 18,000 home fans :bluebird:

If we drew a big club away annis we would sell our allocation no problem remmber arsenal away liverpool away fa cup and league cup we sold our allocation no problem I take you're point they are in the lower divisions but when Plymouth are doing well there support has always been good I remmber them coming to cardiff on a Tuesday night and filled the grangend

Martyn,

I 100% agree with you that the Old City fans would fill every big clubs allocation they would give us,from 6,000 at Chelsea, 5,000 at Arsenal etc

But today I honestly don't believe we would and I know that we have struggled in the last 5 years to sell out, other than when we had the one season in the Premier. We only took 1,500 and it was pay on the day at Burnley away 3pm on a Saturday, No restrictions and to win the Championship for the first time in our history, yet we were allowed 3,000 tickets.

Martyn, that was our biggest Away game in 50years.

That turnout at Turf Moor was absolutely shocking. I defend our crowds to the hilt but that day shocked me and showed how much the rebrand had truly hit our 'hardcore' support of old.

Spot on and the night before even I was not going to go,because I was hurting so much because of the Rebrand, then I spoke to Jaffa from Bridgend at midnight and he said come on Annis you can't miss this after all the years of crap etc. etc. And we drove up that morning and I am glad I did.
I know hundreds to this day that will not return because of those years.

Plymouth remind me of us in so many ways.

A fair sized one team City with a huge catchment area.

When I first started watching Cardiff we were often in the same division, similar crowds etc, both with hardcore support, both with a hooligan element.

They had not to disimilar crowds to us when we both went to the Championship, they have never played in the top division either.

They have huge potential in my opinion, reckon they would pull 25-30,000 in the Premiership if they ever got there and had the stadium for it.

I believe a certain Mr Sam Hammam was looking at them at one point before he chose us.
