Adam Le Fondre is still a Cardiff City player.

The 30 year-old talisman is very well known up and down the Football League pyramid for his clinical finishing and prolific goal scoring.

The Cardiff City striker is currently on loan at fellow Championship side Wigan Athletic but has struggled to break into the first team consistently this season.

Making only 11 appearances for the Latics so far this term, the Stockport born striker has netted just once in the league and is growing frustrated with his lack of playing time at the DW Stadium.

During his career so far, Le Fondre has netted 164 times in 287 league appearances collectively for Stockport, Rochdale, Rotherham, Reading, Cardiff, Bolton, Wolves and now Wigan.

Adam Le Fondre had his best goal scoring return in the late 2000’s with impressive records at Rotherham and Reading in particular before making a big money move over the border to Welsh side Cardiff City.

The lure of Scunthorpe who are currently flying high in League One, sitting in third spot, and who could offer the forward more playing time may be enough to secure his transfer this January.

The Iron aren’t short of goals this term, scoring 48 in League One so far this season, but with top scorer Josh Morris attracting unwanted attention from elsewhere a move for Le Fondre could be needed to keep their promotion push on track should Morris leave in January.

How would we benefit..... I guess Wigan don't pay all his wages, so a permanent move may get him away for good

Really? I'd forgotten about ALF!

A perfect example of where this club has gone wrong in recent years transfer-wise and hopefully something the current manager will be allowed to control. Thankfully, signals from the club are indicating that Neil Warnock is making those decisions without hindrance; albeit within a certain budget for this particular window! :ayatollah:

Another high wage off the payroll, for a player who has no heart or soul for the club, lets pay his train fare, totally useless :bluebird:

That's how it should be Chris. The club set the budget and give the manager the financial constraints to work within and then the manager sells/buys players accordingly.

I think this system fell through after malky and trust was lost. But Warnock is a strong character and won't take shit from the board.

this could really be good news as we should use him as bait to get their keeper who a few clubs along with us are after.

He has made it perfectly clear he does not to be here allegedly, My personal opinion is he came here for the money and no interest in the club whatsoever.
