Cardiff City transfer news LIVE: Neil Warnock reveals more about his transfer plans as Bluebirds are linked with Aberdeen winger
This thread to be updated with all of the latest transfer news

After yesterday's superb 1-0 victory against Aston Villa, thoughts turn back to the transfer market today.
Speaking after that win against Villa, Neil Warnock admitted he would be confident in keeping Cardiff City in the Championship with his current squad, but if the club wants to build a platform for next season, then investment during this window will be vital.
So, where is Warnock looking to strengthen his squad?
A goalkeeper seemed to be high on his list of priorities a few a weeks ago after dropping Ben Amos, but the way in which Brian Murphy has stepped up in his first two performances for the club means that Warnock may now be looking at other areas of his side.
With the club coming very close to financial fair play (FFP) regulations, it is likely that players will need to leave the club to finance all the deals Warnock has in mind.
So, as well as bringing you the very latest on any potential new arrivals at Cardiff City Stadium, we will also be keeping an eye on who could be on their way out.
Follow our live updates below for all the latest transfer news.
KEY EVENT
New goalkeeper still a priority
Warnock still seems set on going after a new No.1 having appeared to have lost faith in Ben Amos with Irishman Murphy replacing him for the past two games following mistakes from the on-loan Bolton man.
He’ll be in goal next week, but that’s as far as we go. We’ll have to wait and see, but he’s experienced and nothing fazes him.
I had (current Bluebirds assistant boss) Kevin Blackwell with me for 40 years who used to let centre-halves head it and then save it when he had to. But I’m pleased for Brian, he’s a good lad, a good pro who’s worked hard for the last few years without really getting an opportunity.
Confirmed departure
Congolese full-back David Tutonda has left Cardiff City.
The 21-year-old has signed for League Two Barnet on a two-year deal.
Tutonda failed to make a first team appearance at Cardiff City Stadium and spent time on loan last season.
He had featured for the under-23 side earlier this season.

Sooner rather than later?
Warnock spoke about his transfer plans after the Villa win yesterday
We have three or four targets and I hope to get one or two over the line. We are close to FFP and we might have to lose the odd player going out; I don’t know who that will be at this moment in time, it all depends who comes in. I can just hope it’s not one I don’t want to go but hopefully we can get deals done as early as possible.”
Hayes on the way?
It was reported yesterday that the Bluebirds could be looking to bring in Aberdeen Winger Jonny Hayes.
The 29-year-old is thought to be available for about £500,000, and Warnock is one of a number of managers monitoring Hayes.
Could we be hearing more about this potential move today?

No need for new striker
Neil Warnock reckons that Kenneth Zohore’s recent form has saved him £1.5million.
The Danish striker has moved ahead of Rickie Lambert in recent weeks to become the number one striker, and his improvement has led Warnock to look elsewhere when strengthening his squad this January.
I think he’s only going to get better. For me he’s the find of my time here – he’s probably saved me £1.5m I would imagine.
I can’t see me buying anybody better than that. I’ve just got to wrap him up in cotton wool and hope he doesn’t get injured because the goals will come for him.

Championship rivals look to snap up striker
The transfer activity is beginning to pick up, and Cardiff’s Championship rivals Preston North End look to have landed themselves a bargain striker.
Preston, 11th in the table, have made an offer thought to have triggered Carlisle’s Charlie Wyke release clause - believed to be less than £400,000.
Wyke has scored 12 goals for Carlisle this season, but he may yet opt not to move down the M6 to Deepdale.

Rumoured new Cardiff signing didn't appear for his current club over Xmas period
20-year-old Ibrahim Meite did not appear for Harrow Borough over the Christmas period, fuelling speculation that he could be on his way to Cardiff City Stadium this January.
The young striker had been on trial with Leicester City earlier this season, and had scored 10 goals in 14 matches before trialling for the Premier League Champions.
Meite caught the eye during Harrow’s FA Cup run earlier this season, as the tier seven side reached the first round proper.

Sako on the move?
Birmingham City have reportedly made an offer of £4 million for Crystal Palace winger Bakary Sako.
With Cardiff looking to bring in a wide man, and showing interest in Aberdeen’s Jonny Hayes, could Sako have been an option

How are Derby not in breach of FFP?
For a number of seasons now they have been spending millions and millions of pounds on players.
I know they regularly get large crowds but that cannot surely mean they are able to spend so heavily? They have no parachute payments and yet continue to throw money around like it's going out of fashion yet they never seem to fall foul of the FFP regulations.
Can anyone explain how they do it?

Derby have spent close on 100 million in the last two seasons as you say no parachute payments and half there crowd (Kids) are let in for a pound, ticket money these days is insignificant.
Likewise I would love to know how they haven't broken the FInancial FairPlay Rules.

The experienced QPR midfielder Karl Henry looks set to be available during this transfer window.
According to West London Sport, Henry is free to leave Loftus Road after a bust up with boss Ian Holloway.
Having made 118 appearances for QPR in the last four seasons, he would add some resilience to any Championship midfield.

It baffles me too.
However, in addition to much bugger gates than us they also sold Jeff Hendrick to Burnley for £10.5m in the summer - which covers some of their stellar spending, but only some.

Wonder whether Warnock told him to have a go at Ollie and then come here with him?

They spent £20 million on players in 15/16 and this season they spent £11million on players in but sold £12 millions worth of players out so they are fine.

A Championship club is allowed to make a (adjusted) loss of up to £39m over a rolling three year period without being in breach of the FFP rules.
In the year to 30 June 2015 Derby lost £10m. In the previous season they lost £7m. Therefore , unless their adjusted loss for the year to 30 June 2016 was more than £22m , they are FFP compliant.

Birmingham City midfielder David Davis is wanted by Cardiff City and Nottingham Forest with his contract expiring at the end of the season.
Davis, 25, has been a key player for Blues this season and new manager Gianfranco Zola has been impressed with the former Wolves man after replacing Gary Rowett at the helm.
A new contract is likely to be tabled by Blues but Mail Online report that Cardiff boss Neil Warnock is keeping tabs on the situation ahead of a potential January swoop.
