What's the deal? In canton stand I was patted down that's ok with me but as I went past he then proceeded to pat down my 12 year old down. Is that even allowed? Didn't even think about it till I was in the ground.

Also spoke to an armed policeman which i thought was shocking by the way. And he said nowt to worry about it was just precaution because of a contingent. What does that mean?? I then asked did he have any intel because i had young kids present. And no footie game is worth this drama. To the reply your safe!! Any one else find it a bit extreme?? Its football 4 pete's sake....

They can't take no risks these days, there's more and more incidents happening around the world, too many brainwashed idiots about. I'd rather be safe than sorry.

In answer to you, I personally don't find it a bit extreme. You see armed police everywhere these days and it's getting to be almost normal.
I don't find it scary either.

I also have no problem with unzipping my jacket and being patted down if these actions act as a deterrent to a potential attacker. Can't be enough security in my opinion and if we have to have armed police patrolling our cities and at big sporting events then so be it.

Yep, 100% better safe than sorry and only those with something to hide would object in the current climate!

All I saw was a police car by the car park entrance on Leckwith Road. Didn't get searched going in, or anything.

Armed police deployed at the ground, kids and adults searched on their way in, but nothing done to stop a protest from the air.

Yeah, I suppose they should have sent a ground to air missile up to prevent the plane from continuing.

A 12 year old kid as a terrorist ? Don't think so. They are doing that for Pyros etc.

The UK is at high risk at terrorism so if there's armed police at all sporting events, don't moan about it.

the searches i witnessed yesterday had little to do with high alert terror threats. the normal ill trained {possibly doing stewarding as a one off} out of work or students randomely going through the motions of patting people down. the guy in fromt of me in his 60s got searched half heartedly me and my 20 yr old son just walked past and in to ground.

They've been doing that for years.

i went to France, everyone got searched at grounds and at fans parks and i think most everyone accepted. random half hearted searches of OAPs ,kids and families while others just walk past is just annoying.

In this day and age it's better to be safe than sorry with these terrorists. Not saying your 12 year old is a terrorist lol... But they can't discriminate.

Lens was well secure, they had snipers on the roof at the stadium. It is what it is these days.

When I went to the Yankee stadium to watch New York City getting through the gate was just like airport security. Place your belongings in a basket too go through a scanner and walk yourself through a big scanner. The yanks take no chances since 9/11 and this could be case at our stadiums in the near future.

Some folk just seem to moan about everything. We live in a dangerous world. Better safe than sorry I say.

I lived in Rome for four years, and often went to see SS Lazio play at the Olimpico. Carabinieri with machine guns. Nobody batted an eyelid!

I think we better get used to it with the Champions league coming to Cardiff this year there is going to be a lot more high security down the City stadium and the Principality stadium actually any big events in Wales
