SOL BAMBA & BRUNO MANGA WERE EXCELLENT TODAY.

Plus Aron Gunnarsson was solid.

WARNOCK DEMANDED A CLEAN SHEET & NOT SLOPPINESS AND THATS WHAT HE GOT TODAY :thumbright: :thumbright: :bluebird: :bluebird:

Do not sell Bruno Manga.

Warnock told his players to get stuck in and give their all and Peltier,Bamba,Gunnarsson were all booked for strong tackles,Warnock loves a bit of a dirt game and this certainly was one.

The First Half City slightly edged it and deserved their one nil lead, but Zohore worked like a Trojan, but missed a couple of sitters.

CARDIFF CITY 1 ASTON VILLA 0

City: Murphy, Peltier, Bennett, Morrison (C), Bamba, Manga, Ralls, Gunnarsson, Harris, Hoilett, Zohore.

Subs: Wilson, Richards, Connolly, Huws, Noone, Pilkington, Lambert.

Crowd 21,391
Away Support 3,358 Villa fans :thumbright:

City walked out to their second biggest crowd of the season against one of the biggest name clubs in the Championship. But Villa so far have had only a mediocre season and for me City could get three points from them.

Cardiff City started brightly and with in 16mins they were one nil up, thanks to a goalmouth scramble as Ralls got the final touch, but it was more of a control than a shot 1-0 :bluebird:

City did not rest and continued to press forward and were looking good.

In the 36min Cardiff City were forced into an early change. Junior Hoilett withdrawn due to an injury, Craig Noone replaced him.

Villa took control for a while and pressed forward with Ross McCormack leading the attack for Villa.

42mins Zohore hit the bar with a volley from Morrison's nod on, then Villa cleared off the line from Bennett. So unlucky! (1-0)

Then in the 44th City were Close again! Amavi blocked Zohore's goal-bound shot with Bunn beaten. (1-0)

HT CARDIFF CITY 1 ASTON VILLA 0 :bluebird: :bluebird:

Villa did a Double change - Agbonlahor and Tshibola on for Gardner and Westwood.

Villa put pressure on City for quite a while, but Bamba and Manga stood firm.

Villa continued to pressure City with Ross McCormack hitting the bar with a free kick and Joe Bennett hacked the ball clear.

Then goalie Brian Murphy in the 71st and 73rd min made two excellent saves for City.

84th min

Villa sub Ross McCormack was replaced by Hepburn-Murphy.

City Sub

Matthew Connolly replaced Joe Bennett.

Villa pressurised Cardiff City for the last 20 minutes and City gave their all and this time No mistakes :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :bluebird: :bluebird:

I'm genuinely being swarmed by Villa fans on Twitter who think we were fouling Grealish the whole game - insane. Football fans defending that behaviour from their own player is disgusting, and is half the bloody problem in this modern game.

Great result and even better with a clean sheet :ayatollah:

Most people would have backed against us today, but it shows what we can do when we invest in a proper football manager. The club need to support him this month.

Poor crowd considering.

I'm definately a sore loser but listening to the local commentary, both commentators (one an ex player) were commenting throughout how Grealish had clearly been targeted. They were both full of praise that he continually dusted himself down & got on with it. I saw the home game and he was kicked to f**k, I can imagine what Warnock said to his players today beforehand.

Its all about perspective the bbc wales commentary were continually saying its a shame a player of his talent has too have this simulation part to his game.

How on gods earth is almost 21,500 a poor crowd?

We are only averaging 15,999 this season and are only 3 point's above the relegation zone, you do realize that right?

An extra 3,600 home fans came to watch us today since the last game against Barnsley, just be grateful for that and hope they come back.

I listened to radio Wales and both commentators said he Could be a top player but were disgusted the way that he continually dives.

I don't think the Ref would be biased and yes Warnocks players get tough and prob to passionate, but its up to a Ref to decide.
I know Warnock would of wound us up today and who could blame a manager with a team near the bottom.

Thats why Warnock is called in, when clubs need saving. :thumbright: :thumbright: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Hard earned 3 points Bamba coming back made a massive difference as I proved very solid along side Manga as expected and everyone worked hard Zohore worked hard and Brian Murphy did very well pulled some great saves and can work on his kicking a bit the negatives was that Noone proved quite sloppy and wouldn't be surprised to see him go and the ref was awful thankfully didn't cost us Well done to Warnock and the boys full of passion and fight! :thumbright: :ayatollah: :bluebird:

I've no probs with Warnock mate. You have to do whatever when you are at the bottom, I would do the same. I've not seen the game so can't comment but yes, it was down to the ref & from what I was hearing, he wasn't up to much.

None of it really matters, it's not going to take any of the points back off you is it?
