Barnet have made David Tutonda their second addition of the January transfer window...
Barnet Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of exciting left-sided player David Tutonda on a two-year contract from Cardiff City.
Tutonda, 21, becomes the Bees’ second signing ahead of the January transfer window. We are awaiting international clearance before he can make his debut.
Speaking following the signing of Tutonda, interim head coach Rossi Eames said: “The beauty of what David brings is he is versatile. He’s been out on loan a couple of times at Newport County and York City and he is a good age.
“That versatility will really help the team and squad and he has been a pleasure to coach so far.”
Born in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Tutonda joined Cardiff City in 2012 when he was spotted by current AFC Wimbledon boss Neal Ardley.
Tutonda, who can play anywhere down the left-hand side or at centre-back, has previously spent time on loan at Newport County and York City making 26 appearances.
Interim assistant head coach Henry Newman added: “David is a young player who was brought to our attention very recently after we were told we would be in interim charge.
“He is very attack minded, has good physicalitY, has an excellent attitude and he is a really level-headed boy. He has been in training with us for the last three or four days.
“It took us a little bit of time to get him in but, since he has been in, he has been excellent.”

Joined the Academy in 2012 and showed early promise. To the best of my knowledge, he never played a First Team game in a Bluebird shirt and was never really got a chance under (mainly) Russell Slade; a man who didn't play youngsters
Played on-loan at Newport for a while

Newport fans tell me he did really well during his loan spell. Expected to see him progress but alas it didn't happen.

Saw him play for York last season when I was up there visiting family and unless he has improved dramatically is a lower division player at best on that showing. Good luck to the lad but not a huge loss by any stretch...

when you consider we have used over 70 players in the 1st team since Malky left not knowing a player that isnt on that list is understandable
