Like you, I've seen it like that at Ninian Park in the past, Annis and we've had to pass it along the stand as to what's happened at the other end! LOL

Not sure about these days, but the rule of thumb used to be that if the referee could see both goals from the half-way line then the game could go ahead. Made for some fun commentary on TV and Radio at times! :laughing6:

Although I think that rule still stands, the HSE have had a massive influence recent years and they have to take into consideration those both inside and outside the stadium and having taken everything into consideration it appears to have been a rare but correct decision to postpone

10/10 to those who travelled and (thankfully) they shouldn't be too much out of pocket thanks to the re-imbursement of ticket costs and the generous 'free travel' offer from EFL sponsors, SkyBet  :ayatollah:

I was just going to mention that game on this thread, but you beat me to it. I went to that game with my Dad and back then we used to sit just above the Director's Box in the middle of the Grandstand. We could hardly see the near byline, let alone the far one. We were all - the fans - surprised that the game was allowed to go ahead, because we couldn't hardly see anything from our vantage point. The Fog got much worse as the game went on and it was getting more ridiculous, as the players couldn't even see each other on the pitch anymore. Looking back, I am amazed that the referee didn't call the game off at some point throughout the whole 90 minutes, especially in the 2nd Half. Even the highlights of the game that aired on the Saint and Greavsie TV Show, the very next day were ridiculous. All you could see were dark silhouettes moving across the screen. You couldn't tell who had the ball, because you couldn't see the bloody thing. You couldn't tell which team was in Blue and the other were in yellow & green - if memory serves me correct. God knows how there were 5 goals in that game. Maybe there were more goals than that. Maybe there were really 30 goals scored on that cold, foggy night. If there were an extra 25 goals scored in that game. Then, no one would be any of the wiser, because no bugger could see a bleeding thing, that bloody night.

Bloooooobirds.
