' My team for Brighton tonight would do a job '

Fri Dec 30, 2016 8:42 am

Murphy

Peltier Manga Bamba Morrison Bennett

Holiett O'keefe Gunnerson Ralls

Zohore

5 4 1

Bennett to give us width down the left

Holiett down the right
any of the midfield 3 to get foreward in support of Zohore

plus the threat of Morrison from set pieces
and this set up, improves the lack of pace slightly

with odds of 5 to 1 to win and 3 to 1 to draw im having £20 on the draw and £ 10 on the away win

not doing first goal scorer like our last game as whitts is injured , and I allways put him in as he takes the penalties ,14 to 1 last week, he was, and people on here think I hate him , I just dont rate him anymore , and its just my opinion

Wouldn't argue with that really. Maybe Conilly instead of Morrison for me though that's never gonna happen.

Wouldn't be against that line up, maybe Noone for Ralls for extra pace outwide because he puts in a good defensive shift.

I had Whitts first goal Cardiff to win 2-1 Boxing Day

0-0 the best we could hope for with that team.

I'd be over the moon with 0-0 and I agree that this line up is very defensive and possibly nooone for talks is a good call.
We did frustrate them at our place but it could be very different down there. I'm happy to start with this team though.

Btw Troobloo, opinions is what makes football. Not everyone is going to agree with everyone else about certain players but having an opinion and accepting that others may have different opinions and being able to discuss like adults is what I love about coming in here. To be fair, you always put your point across in a mature way (I don't always agree though lol).

We never put 2 passes together 2nd half against Brentford, if Whitts is fit he must play, a midfield of Ralls, Gunnars and Okeefe has zero composure. We might not keep hold of the ball brilliantly well but at least with Whitts he is our go to man that our players trust when were under pressure and he brings a calmness to our game. Also our best chance of scoring is from set pieces, as we all know Whitts is a weapon from dead ball, unfortunately can't say the same for any of the other 3.

And there is the flaw at the club, there isn't one !!!!

We were a no mistake, set play team. Your favourite players ability to put the ball into dangerous areas at set plays is our only weapon, as it really has been since Chops and Jay left. Leaving him out nullifys our only real tactic.

i see that working as more a 5-3-2 with wingbacks personaly steve.
im not a fan of joe ralls, so if whitts is out id like us to try emyr huws in there.
think we really are lacking quality in the middle of the park.
peltier is injured so jazz will have to come in

How about

Murphy

Connolly bamba manga Bennett

Hoilett O'Keefe Whitts Gunnarson noone

Zohore

If peltier is fit then him ahead of Connolly.

Noone and Hoilett will have to put in a shift to support both full backs and get close to zohore and Whitts starting ahead of O'Keefe and Gunnarson with either breaking forward if the chance opens up

Like it, much stronger midfield, we definitely need to make changes

5-3-2 would be an effective formation.

Five defenders away from home against a top of the league Brighton team, defence is vital in this game.
Two strikers up front to potentially knick a goal on the counter attack and then just defend, defend, defend.

That's the only way we're gonna get a result tonight in my eyes. I'd go with:

Murphy
Richards Morrison Bamba Manga Bennett
Gunnarsson Whittingham Ralls
Pilkington Zohore

Bring on Noone and Hoilett as subs if we need pace out wide.

This . An away game that we will probably be starved , of the ball and we will need the extra legs in the middle of the . Park .if whitt is not 100% fit. Keep him for the villa, home game

All out attack :laughing6: In all honesty we will be lucky a with a point but theres more odds on us getting smashed if you go off form and the league table so atleast go try to win the game rather than having two shots on effort for 90+ minutes while sitting back losing 3-0 as that shows no desire at all to me to even try get something if there's nothing going towards there goal shots wise. id rather lose 3-4 trying (Barnsley) than lose 3-0 and having nothing of a threat :bluescarf:
