Listening to talk sport this morning and they were discussing the prospect of Ryan Giggs joining Swansea as their next manager. They said it's not whether he's good enough for Swansea, but more like is Swansea good enough for him. They then said just think of poor Ole Gunnar Solskjaer,a great playing career then takes the plunge in management only for Cardiff to ruin it for him. They said the poor bloke was banging his head against the wall every week at Cardiff.
"Bullshit" he ruined our club and we are still paying for it now.We have only just managed to sell some of the crap he lumbered us with.

Totally agree. I think Solskjaer was spoilt at Man Utd and Molde with quality players for that level that had largely been provided for him. When he was given the task of building his own team from scratch in a league he had very little idea about he completely misjudged it.
I see Solskjaer as similar to Mark Hughes. Given time and experience he might prove to be an adequate manager. I just think we were the wrong club at the wrong time for him. He got the balance of the squad wrong and his tactics were naive.

He well and truly mucked up any chance we had of staying up and then going straight back up and we are still paying the price for it. Players like Le Fondre still on the books.

What a load of tosh. Great player, decent bloke but out of his depth in managing us. Being a decent player often doesn't translate into being a decent manager. Good luck to him though. I think it could be the same for the White Sox if Giggs gets the, er, gig.

Solskjaer took full responsibility for our relegation at the time and looking back in an interview with Four.Four.Two in 2016 said that he 'wasn't ready' for the Cardiff job. As far as I know he has never made excuses for his failure with us - even if other people do on his behalf:
https://www.balls.ie/football/ole-gunna ... ing/344195On Cardiff City, and whether he regrets his decision:
I’d had approaches before, but I felt Cardiff was the right time for me. I don’t regret it – stand by your decisions. If they’d known what they know now, maybe they wouldn’t have done it; maybe I wouldn’t have done it. It was a valuable experience, but it didn’t turn out well. I feel bad when I look at the results. It’s hard when you get relegated. But I can look back and say I wasn’t ready. And I never dreaded going into work at Cardiff. Vincent [Tan] and I spoke a lot – that was never an issue. He wanted his team to be successful, and he’s right to do what he wants to do. I wish him all the very best.

I don't know why people listen to Talk Shite! It used to be great but has rapidly gone downhill!
As for Solskjaer we've had some shocking managers over the years but all things considered I rank him as the worst! He had no one to blame but himself for the total shambles he made of the job!

Another fine finish to your quote

let's be honest whoever takes over down the statue of liberty stadium is gonna have to do something big I January and could create another disaster zone of spending like Ole with us. The Swansea bay packers are gonna take more than just a name to turn it around

Hope not on the Sports Bar last night they stated without doubt that Hull & Swansea are gone and only one other relegation place needs to be filled.
That said you are right about OGS he has to be considered the worst manager ever simply because of the resources he was given and still made an utter bollocks of the job.

Give Warnock the transfer kitty OGS had we would've ran away with the league.
