Jack's are already down

Tue Dec 27, 2016 8:38 pm

It is recognised that it takes 36 -38 points to stay in the premier. The half - season is here and they are on 12 points so they need to double their points gained over the second half, it ain't going to happen! (We had 21 points at this stage and went down) :old:

There is another 2 games before the halfway stage. If they win them and then repeat that 18 game form, they will reach 36. I don't think they will mind.

You are half right, 18 games played, 19 half way

Would have got another 21 and stayed up if Tan had not interferred.

May only be another 26 points for them to stay up - average 1.3 points a game, something they have done If not better in previous seasons. I think they will stay up.

Re: Jack's are already down

I think it will be remarkably low point totals for the three that go down this year. The top teams are generally doing a better job of seeing off lower placed teams this year, and your Hull's and Swansea's are just absolutely dire. The bottom 3-5 could really find themselves isolated soon.

For me, even with a manager change, Swansea haven't got enough about them to put the kind of run together that they need to get themselves to safety. The squad is so weak, and the new manager has a really bad run of games at start of 2017 I think? Good too, as we may get ourselves two games against them next season!

I don't think they will stay up. They have not replaced the players sold with like for like. Too many Championship types in their squad.

Turds, and polish spring to mind. No matter who they bring in. (if indeed anyone wants to go there) :old:

January window to come and they still have a core of some good players and plenty of pace. Hull are doomed, I fancy 2 out of Boro, Sunderland and Burnley to join them with us next season. Having said that the jacks next 3 games will probable determine their season.

are they at bottom ? if so is it only 2 teams have escaped relegation after being in such a position at xmas since premier started? if so 38 points looks a very long way away!

Four of their next eight games , are against Liverpool,Arsenal,Man city and Chelsea.
With Palace,Bournemouth,Leicester city and Southampton.
Couldn't help looking.
Even the most positive Jack will only see Seven points out of them Eight games.
19 points half way through February doesn't look good.

They are only 4 points from safety, so I think its too early to say they are down for sure. Fingers crossed they continue to take hammerings form the other sides around them and find themselves cut adrift when it comes to playing the top sides again.

You probably can't afford to go on holiday small Ken, but when normal working people go on hols we normally spend a lot of time chilling round the pool reading books, papers of Internet forums etc
