Providing VT converts all the debt to equity then we must have had a better deal than the JB's.

American owners are not known for being benevolent and it is hard to see how they will finance the club out of their own pockets once they have lost their Premiership riches. For all of VT's misgivings without him we would have sunk years ago as he has put his own cash in to pay off debt. We are still living with the after shocks of PL relegation but for Swansea it is going to be one hell of a bump as their finances are on the edge by spending 85% of turnover on wages alone.

In the summer there will be a massive fire sale as the investors attempt to recoup their money and any parachute payments will go the same way.

Meanwhile we should be getting our house in order and although we might still struggle eventually we will turn a corner.

Everyone remembers what happened but you can't simply sweep the attempts to put things right under the carpet. Whatever else VT is he has put over £100m of his own cash INTO this club, unlike the American owners of Swansea who seem to have put their £100m investment into the pockets of Huw Jenkins and others.

There might be an argument that neither owners are much of a choice but based on what we are witnessing I would prefer our owner to the Americans

VT has made mistakes but I think he has learned from them.

VT has also used his own money and has backed our managers with money like never before. It's a shame we have had some crap managers.

If VT backs Warnock we will be in contention for promotion next season.

The Jacks have the worse end imo, whereas VT has allowed had our finances at heart the white sox are being sold down the river by the Americans. VT made a big mistake changing us to red but that's the only thing he's done wrong but he has rectified that.

Have the Americans split the jacks fan base in two and made people to humiliated to by their kit????

Let's face it, the jacks are only really suffering from a prospect of relegation.

We had our fans blown apart.

They start singing Bradley out at a match and the next day he is sacked.

We got ignored for years.

Like i said, short memories on here. The jacks are going through a relegation battle and have sold a few players and some people think the yanks are worse than tan. Tan turned us into a f*cking laughing stock and continually and publicly insulted us and our history, but no, jacks have got it so bad haven't they (they haven't spent well, and theirs 'rumours' they may not invest that much in Jan - spine chilling stuff down west)!? We sat at the bottom of the prem and got stuffed every week too, but ironically that was the best thing that happened to us during those years.

Yes our club have made huge steps in the right direction but a walk round the pitch in a blue shirt taking a few selfies with fans didn't make me forget what happened. I give credit to how the club is changing it's ways but this thread is a f*cking joke.

The whole re-brand gives Tan the win, for me. Still early days at Swansea City though.

Re: VOTE: ' Vincent Tan or Jacks American Shareholders? '

Anyone that thinks the Jacks are having it worse than we've had it over the last 6 years need to have a word with themselves.

Tan came into our club and basically sh@t on our history and identity and ripped it up. He had no respect for the fans, employed numerous idiots at all levels to run the club, made us a laughing stock around the world and most importantly completely split our fan base turning fans against fans. And we're now in a relegation fight to stay in the championship.

Meanwhile the Jacks have spent the last 5 years in the Premiership, won the League Cup, gained many admirers around the world, gained thousands more fans and now they are in a relegation fight to stay in the Premiership.

What's happening to the Jacks has happened to many clubs and will continue to happen - what happened to us has never happened to any club before and I wouldn't wish it on any in the future, not even the Jacks.

Most people tend to focus on the here and now and only want success and forget about the most important thing - supporting your club. Clubs get relegated, promoted, go into administration etc but the most important part of any club is the fans and Tan throw a huge bomb amongst ours which we may never recover from.

Us, I'm not sure Cardiff City will ever be the same after the rebrand. It may have been reversed but a lot of damage has been done

Bollocks to that. You do realise we are in a crisis because we are in a relegation fight or is that acceptable to you?

Christ sake get over it  The only people 'splitting the fan base' is people like you who just can't let go and want to continue to cry about a past event which has now been rectified.

Can't you see it is this drivel which is holding us back? Our club is near to being debt free for the first occasion in my lifetime (55 years) and I feel a fantastic future ahead as we have grappled with a problem so many other clubs are ignoring and will pay the price for in the next few seasons.

From that prospective Swansea have it all to come and are relying on owners who have a track record in asset stripping to recoup their investments.

Same could be said of Bournemouth, Sunderland, Hull City, Middlesbrough and half a dozen other PL & Championship sides. Play our cards right and we could be one of those sides to fill a huge vacuum which is beginning to open up.

It would help of course fans like you can stop moaning and start supporting :king:

Re: VOTE: ' Vincent Tan or Jacks American Shareholders? '

I feel VT made a mistake with the rebrand, but what other owner has done what he has done to a club ?

The JBs are in free fall and has its heart ripped out. Who ever they appoint will not make a difference and any decent manager will avoid the club at present.

Like a few realists have said here, City is on the up and running debt free.

Re: VOTE: ' Vincent Tan or Jacks American Shareholders? '

Wed Dec 28, 2016 1:43 pm

Why have Swansea had their heart ripped out? Jenkins and co took them as far as they could, was either stand still and ultimately freefall or roll the dice, the new owners have made a mistake in appointing Bradley but they have realised that and made the change. If they didnt care they would have just left him in place.

The Jacks have had it so good for such a long time their moaning bitter jealous fans ought to put the dummys back in and just support their team in whats been their first difficult season in ages.

The Americans havnt realy had a fair crack of the whip. Its so close between 7-8 Clubs at the bottom that they are far from certs for relegation especialy if they bring in someone decent and a few additions. IF I was a Jack Id be praying they went all out for Pardew.

Its a shame they sacked Bradley, we ere all enjoying the car crash but its far to early for us to laugh at them, far to early.

we got ignored because so many stood back mate.
WE could have got blue back within weeks had people been vocal enough.
truthfully. if you were VT would you be at all concerned about the first protest.would you be thinking youd made a huge mistake?
was hundreds not thousands protesting and questionable if some of those even attended games.
way too many reserved judgement for 18 months and now want to hate VT instead of blamming themselves for their own lack of action.
i walked to the castle to join the first protest myself. and concluded the desire to remain blue amongst our fans was minimum
why would the owner think any different?
THIS WAS THE DAY THAT MATTERED.
