I had two new books for Christmas

Greatest games Cardiff City written by sean wozencroft and Cardiff City rebranded bluebirds red dragons scott johnson :bluescarf: I'm reading the greatest games first and its a good read a lot of the games in the book I was there but ian a bit gutted he never mentioned the cardiff v palace game in the old third division when Alston scored the winner when there was thousands of us behind the goal what a day that was

had some big games v Palace over the years and that one is right up there.Malcom Allisons programme notes added a bit of spice with his predictions. we wouldnt even get 25k against Hereford.

its hard to believe now that a game versus Hereford could be such a big deal.36k but i felt there was more than that.

Rumours over the years that the actual crowd was over 40k. We'll never know for certain now, though. Either way, it was an unforgettable night, as can be seen by us discussing it forty years later! I got to the ground about 7.10, but the queues were too long for the Bob Bank, so went into the enclosure, nearest the Canton. Even then, missed kick-off. Only time ever!

Got in the grange end early that night I was only 13 teen at the time
