NEIL WARNOCK:"SOME CITY PLAYERS NEED TO LOOK AT THEMSELVES"

NEIL WARNOCK:"SOME CITY PLAYERS NEED TO LOOK AT THEMSELVES"

"We've got one or two lads who just please themselves" Strong stuff from Neil Warnock.

NEIL WARNOCK: "One or two players need to look at themselves, you've got to have more desire when you go 2-1 up, you have to do more to stop the cross."

Warnock said: “We've snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. The lads obviously want to punish me, they don't want to make it easy for me! It feels like a loss.

“I was pleased with quite a few and disappointed with one or two today, I thought the desire at 2-1, to keep your goal intact, was very poor and disappointing.

“One or two players really have to have a look at themselves, you've got to have the desire to stop a cross, a header. Put it this way I was very disappointed to concede like that, you've got to take responsbility. Some of our experienced lads have got to stand up as well, we've got one or two lads who just please themelves, and we should be grabbing them by the scruff of the neck and telling them where to go. We just allowed them to build, it was like slow-motion.

Warnock was also disappointed, with Kaikai's opener, saying: “Unless we're all on the same hymn sheet I'm afraid that's what happens at this level, if you take your foot off the pedal, if you think you're better than you are, you get kicked in the teeth.”

Warnock revealed that Lee Peltier had to be substituted after suffering from illness throughout the game. Cardiff had no specialist defender on the bench and so had to move Stuart O'Keefe into the wing-back position.

Drop Morrison and Connolly would be a start.

Bennett was too far forward at 2-1.

Just heard his interview he weren't happy at all very precise in what he said.

Warnock also needs to take a long hard look at himself - not exactly setting the world alight. He identified there was a problem with the fence and the best he could come up with is hopefully it will be better in January.

So in the meantime it is acceptable to drop four points in the last two games is it ?

What are you doing on the training field to improve it ?

4 points from 9, should of been 6 really we should of won today, there's fucall Warnock can do if a team does not have the desire to see out a game with a few mins left.

I think you need to wake up and smell the coffee, we were a team destine for league one before Warnock arrived, we are now picking points up creeping up the table and I believe we can pick points up off anyone that's including Brighton and villa up next.

Warnock can only piss with the cock he's got and until January comes he can't get rid of the deadwood and improve the squad.

Exactly Warnock doesn't have his own team yet.

I think the 'laissez-faire' attitude from a number of players stems back from the Russell Slade and Paul Trollope eras and is a hangover from employing managers who simply couldn't motivate when it really mattered

Neil Warnock may be blunt in his assessment but there will be a plan behind it: "Shape up or ship out, me hearties!"

It's hard to disagree with that and one or two must surely be close to the first team/club exit?? :?

I would hope so, that's the vibe I'm getting and I like it, you don't perform your off to another club.

Warnock will bring in leaders in Jan or will try to. He just said that its' a January issue and wouldn't be surprised to see Morrison and Connolly replaced.

Always good to get a point away from home when you are battling relegation.

Could we see a new 'captain' come in to steer the team on the field?? Hmmmm...

With Connolly, I just think he is out of his comfort zone at full back; whilst Morrison has simply not been able to handle the captain's armband, which surprises me having met him. He's a big unit! LOL :laughing6:

I agree Steve, but 3pts today would put have put No pressure on Brighton away game and we've just lost at home to Barnsley last Saturday

We need another Bamba type defender that's for sure just make sure they don't fly off the handle. :laughing6:

I think we can get 8 or 9 points from our January fixtures which should keep us clear of the bottom 5. Anything we can pick up at Brighton would be a nice bonus. A nervous few weeks ahead but I am confident(ish) that we will still be playing Championship football next season with a meaty local derby against the Jacks to look forward to.

He's being harsh onBennett IMO.

O Keefe and Pilkington are f*cking around on the other side doing tricks and flicks when it's time to just lump the ball upfield.

They lose the ball and the play gets switched and the winger is well ahead of Bennett.

I'd also like to know what the f**k Connolly was doing when the cross come over.

Totally agree warnock knows the workers and I think there will be players coming and going in january

Shellshocked!

Well done Brian just what the doctor ordered despite the error! Well done Zahore your coming good for us!

2 points lost though! As Warnock said weak areas need looking at, roll on January and if anyone goes missing against Brighton show them the f@&£ing door!

We have a chance to stay afloat but if we are not careful we are going to start taking on water! No wonder Warnock seems resentful of "average" players not putting themselves on the line for us.

If they want to play like that they should join Russel Slade at Coventry City probably about their level seeing as they got hammered 4-1 by Rovers today! :banghead:

Sorry there is something Warnock can do - everyone knows in football that you are at your most vulnerable just after you have scored and this is something I drum home to my players week in week out and after every goal we score.

I would expect a manager of his ability to eradicate these types of errors and for it to happen two weeks running is unacceptable. That does not take till January to sort out :o

Agreed. Strange how every other manager we've had gets the shit for the mistakes but now Warnock isn't accountable. The responsibility is shared imo.

Point away to Brentford is more than acceptable, reminds me of season we got to prem our delusional fans expecting us to beat your villas coz we're Cardiff City bah. Yes we should of taken 3 points but we didn't Warnock inherited a mess if a club there's only so much he can do, but just coz we're Cardiff doesn't give us a right to go to your Brentford's and take all the points Our team has to earn them Simples.

And that means giving everything for the cause, some players aren't buying into that, had this issue with workers myself. Not everyone will buy into your hard work ethic and philosophy and will just go through the motions to pick up a pay cheque, but hey Warnock Out right?

Normally I would agree with you but when you go 2-1 up in the last minute of the game, one point instead of three almost feels like a defeat.

So far his record 4 wins, 4 draws and 4 defeats. We are moving slowly in the right direction. At least allow him a transfer window and a bit of time before before judging him. Everyone expects instant success. When you are down towards the bottom you are there on merit. Was always going to take more than 12 games to turn this shower around.

How do you know Warnock did not inform his players of how to see out the game and they didn't listen ? Mind reader are you.

I tend to agree with you. I like Warnock but when you've spent 90 minutes kicking and throwing the ball as far as possible like a hot potato then maybe it's asking too much to then play possession football for the last four minutes of added time.

We have absolutely no composure on the ball = we cannot retain possession and we allow opposing teams far too much time on the ball with virtually no meaningful challenges put in until the other team are on the edge of our penalty area.

It was inevitable today unfortunately that after scoring in the last minute we would be incapable of keeping the ball away from Brentford and away from our goal for even two minutes, let alone the four minutes of added time.

Two points absolutely thrown away today.

Re: NEIL WARNOCK:"SOME CITY PLAYERS NEED TO LOOK AT THEMSELV

Yes he has inherited a mess from Trollope however this is something he could have resolved from last week.

You can't keep passing the buck onto the players he is accountable as well - that's what people on here seem to forget.

I have not once said Warnock out like people seem to think - I believe an experienced manager like Warnock could and should have discussed the late goal last week and offered solutions for it not to happen again on the training pitch this week.

Points are precious and the four points we would have had from not conceding in the last few minutes of the last two games would have given us breathing space.
