Cardiff City have recently been linked with a January swoop for Hearts right back Callum Paterson.

They will face competition from a number of other Championship clubs but Neil Warnock will be confident of landing his man for a fee in the region of £500,000.

Callum Paterson is a Scotland international right back, who has played over 150 games for Hearts despite his young age.

The 22-year-old is an attack-minded right back who can also play as a striker.

Neil Warnock will not stop there, though.

There will be plenty of other targets that he’s already got his eye on and discussing a potential deal for.


The Cardiff boss has made it clear that he is not impressed with his current squad, as evidenced when he brought in 4 free agents within a week of arriving, and he has been itching for the January transfer window to re-open.

FRAIZER CAMPBELL


Cardiff need a striker to put the ball in the net and might look at former forward Fraizer Campbell.

The 29-year-old enjoyed a successful year and a half in South Wales before moving to Crystal Palace.






MATZ SELS


Cardiff could also do with a new goalkeeper as Ben Amos hasn’t exactly set the world alight.

They lost two very talented stoppers in David Marshall and Simon Moore this summer but failed to replace them.

Mat Selz - could be a shout but he be on high wages considering Toon paid 6.5 mill for him earlier in the summer.

Your right. £600,000 will probably secure him.

I've always thought the main problem is we don't get decent supply to the strikers from midfield so thats where i'd be looking - we have been though something like 18 strikers in the last few seasons and written them all off (even though they score loads of goals for other teams...) i'd be looking to shake up the midfield as a priority.

Hearts have a funding shortfall on their new main stand so he will 100% be getting sold for whatever they can get for him, plus I'm sure he will be out of contract soon so they need the money.

How they can be building a new stand when they don't have enough funds raised is puzzling in itself but that's another thread entirely!

To make the point he's actually a very good player especially going forward which as a Hibs fan does pain me to say!!
