Aston Villa striker Rudy Gestede set for move to West Brom in £7million deal in January

WEST BROM are set to land Rudy Gestede for £7million next month – with Aston Villa lining up Brentford’s £9m-rated Scott Hogan as the striker’s replacement.

Tony Pulis wants to boost his team’s firepower and is confident of landing French striker Gesetde who joined Villa from Blackburn for £6m on a five-year deal in 2015.

Definitely progressed a hell of a lot since he was with us ,in see Zohore in the same way and he's quicker off the mark than rudy

in a birmingham express poll more than 80% of WBA dont want him. and why would they want a Villa sub?

What I saw of him playing for us he wasn't very good.

Got to agree, personally didn't think he was any different to the player that left us. Certainly isn't worth 7m. Rudy had some great sub appearances for the city including his two goals against the scabs but he never impressed when starting. Granted he was good for Blackburn, but what's he done since? An impact player again.

Apart from Liverpool in the Carling cup I don't remember him doing too well when starting a game for us, but showed some signs he could be a good player from the bench, certainly wouldn't say he's worth 7 million. Not done much since a good 2 seasons with Blackburn. Plenty of strikers who are better than him in the championship.

Well I guess he's laughing all the way to the bank!
Big wages and a couple of big money moves. He's very decent in the air and I would imagine that's the main reason Pullis wants him if true.

Meant doing well regards to going to premier and of course his bank balance! Like a lot of strikers he needs the right set up to function properly villa is not the right place I Don't think, maybe that is pulis's thinking and he we will suit his plans?

He is a poor striker after only scoring 9 goals in 49 appearances for Villa.

People seem to remember MM getting Corn the Dan ....But forget about this guy Rudy,who he saw something in .

Might not have done it with some people ( including me at times ) But other clubs want to pay the fee for him.
