Cracking game today

By Vince Alm

Cracking game gutted at the end after working hard to get back level. We need to defend better it's not good at the moment and we need to take our clear cut chances. See what the transfer window brings

Amos is nowhere near good enough! A decent keeper is s priority in January!

If they keep serving up what they have the last week then I will be over the moon. The dross under slade and Trollope is a distant memory, we got punished first half but actually played really well. They were clinical and a decent team. Second half we refused to give up, I love this new attitude and it nearly paid off and Lambert should have won it for city at the death.

The fans stayed with the team again, it's the city I know win lose or draw. We will only get better.

I totally agree! However Amos isn't winning us any points and on performances like today he's losing them! If we had Marshall today we would have won that!

Unfortunately, a fact that the club have to except is that when you sell your no.1 and no.2 goalkeepers and bring in a league one reserve keeper then your going to drop points at crucial moments because hes just not good enough.

Whitts and gunnar were absolutely superb today and I thought Zahore done well with what little he had to feed off.

Ultimately though, what defeated us was not taking our chances. We could have absolutely stuffed them today but we don't have the quality to finish games.

Agree with all the posts, not often you see such positivity after conceding 4 and getting beat! Felt fully entertained on my way home despite disappointment. 22 Cardiff shots, guys desire and passion. Won't be losing any sleep tonight. Yes Amos has cost us.

You look where Whittingham was every time they scored ... no where ... except for the assist on the 3rd.
Never marks his man, makes one tackle a game.
Took some great corners today though. A good strike too.

I just wish he would be in the game when e don't have the ball.

1st goal - Amos and Morrison WTF
2nd goal Peltier gets burnt
3rd goal Whitts get burnt whilst covering the full back
4th goal Peltier all at sea on the wrong side

They were fast and mobile and we had 3 centre halfs and a old school full back playing on the wrong side and its Whitts fault

Warnocks second mistake, but he'll not make that again.

Have to disagree with this mate, Whittingham had a great game today

Where would you have liked him to be? I know the defence was poor, but Whitts is a midfielder i would not have expected to see him in front of Amos :laughing5:

If you look back 3 of their goals came on counter attacks from our corners etc and whitts is up there doing what he's supposed to. Which is supplying quality balls into the box.
Currently watching qpr and villa game and it's been mentioned a few times how poor the delivery from set pieces has been. We lucky to have him with us for that

People have different views of the game, often depending on where they are sitting.
On the train home people were saying Whittingham was slow and past it, while on here today he has many supporters.
I've always supported Whittingham but he seems a bit slower these days and tackling is not his strong point. Actually appears to avoid having to tackle at times.
I agree it was others that got caught on the break for the goals. Amazingly he was fast enough to get back to pass the ball to their bloke for the 3rd.
Perhaps I was harsh on him !!!

He didnt pass the ball to their player more of a tackle that the ball rolled to the player to stroke home because he had a open goal where Amos went into no man's land

Ha ha - calling that a tackle is being a bit imaginative, an interception perhaps. The ball must have been a yard from anyone else. Just a shame it went to their bloke.

I also disagree. I thought Whitts was our motm. Also he also stopped a more or less certain Barnsley goal when they broke, but Whitts tracked back and cut out the pullback to the Barnsley striker. To blame Whitts for us losing that game is quite frankly ridiculous!

Agreed, ridiculous but predictable.

Whitts was outstanding on Saturday and actually should get credit for having chased back when a number of his, quicker, team mates were nowhere to be seen. Plus he was actually the corner taker from which Barnsley broke so furthest player away !!

He scored one, hit the woodwork, created 2 with his corners as well as hardly giving the ball away all game despite having more touches than any other City midfield player. He also put in one blinding tackle in the 2nd half to stop yet another break away that was so good it set up an attack for us !!

I'm not sure what else we would want from a midfield player to be honest. There are games that he could be criticised for but Saturday simply wasn't one of them !!
