' Royals join midfielder race '

Championship outfit Reading are believed to have joined Celtic in the race to sign Crystal Palace midfielder Jordon Mutch.

Jordon Mutch has struggled to force his way into the Eagles side after arriving from Queens Park Rangers in a deal worth £5million and looks to be heading for the exit door.

Scottish champions Celtic have been heavily linked with a move for the player, while Aston Villa are also known to be keen as they look to win promotion back to the Premier League.

The Royals can now be added to the list of interested parties so Mutch will not be short of options when the transfer window opens again next month.

Palace will not stand in his way, although they will be looking for a fee in the region £2.5million.

I appreciated Jordan Mutch and it was great when he reached a good level of consistency.
Also there was that unforgettable goal v Fulham at Craven Cottage in the Premier League, but sadly he did seem a bit injury prone.
If he kept his fitness he is so imposing, he could be Yaya Toure at his best.
Sadly that fitness consistency was never there to be relied on.
Understandable as someone you may want for a squad and a promotion push, but seems like a lot of money these days.

Not sure how you could possibly compare Mutch to Yaya Toure...but I agree on his day he was a decent player, unfortunately he has always been injury prone and because of that is unlikely to make any sort of impact wherever he ends up

Not just about injury prone, was never fit enough to be at his best for 90 mins. Loved the driving runs forward and has class, personally think championship is his level because of the flaws.
