Cardiff City player could be set for move to Europa League club
Wednesday 14th December 2016
Cardiff City forward Lex Immers could be set for a move to in the January transfer window with Club Brugge interested in the Dutchman. Immers only joined the Championship side on a permanent deal in the summer, but has struggled to make an impact this season.
HLN report Brugge are keen to sign Immers in the new year as the Belgian champions look to strengthen their squad. Brugge were knocked out of the Champions League last week, but still want to recruit in January as they remain involved in the Europa League.
This isn’t the first time this season Immers has been linked with a move away from Cardiff City. The 30-year old’s former club ADO Den Haag were reported to be interested in the player, and Immers himself has spoken in the past about his desire to return to his boyhood club in the future
Given Cardiff City’s woes in this campaign, Immers could be tempted with a move in the new year whether it be to the Netherlands or Belgium.

Be sad to see him go. Another case of 'what might have been', but whole picture considered, it would be a mutually beneficial move, especially if we can nick a mil for him.

I thought he was poor again last night. And nothing like last season so as it stands take the money

I was delighted when we signed Lex in the summer and thought we had a great addition to the squad.
God knows what's happened to him since he signed. He's a shadow of the player he was last season.
Think he may have burnt his bridges with that first half performance yesterday so best all round if he moves on and we free up some wages.

I am mystified why Immers is a shadow of himself last season when he made an immediate impact and was probably our best signing for sometime. His form seems to have dipped when he was injured with what was described as dead leg. Even when he returned, you could see he was still carrying an injury but he's never returned to his formed blistering form. Such a shame.

Lex Immers failed to score for Cardiff so far this season in 13 appearances, having scored five in 15 at the end of last season.

Lex Immers a shadow of his former self
If Manga raised doubts over selling him and Zohore pressed his case for future chances, the same cannot be said of others given a chance here.
Warnock’s selection – with no out-and-out striker – surprised, but he said later it was because he had been disappointed by his front three at Ipswich.
Coming into the side for the first start of Warnock’s time, Lex Immers did little to justify his opportunity and his physically weak and technically feeble display only increased the wondering of what happened to last year’s loan star.
Hooked at half-time, it wouldn’t surprise if the Dutchman is made surplus to requirements while Keiran Richardson – on a short term deal – fared little better in his chance to impress.
While his CV shows he has pedigree, he offered no threat and little cover here, Junior Hoillet’s impression made since signing at the same time only highlighting Richardson’s struggles all the more.

Belgian champions Club Brugge are interested in signing Cardiff City forward Lex Immers in the January transfer window, according to Belgian publication HLN.
The Jupiler Pro League side who faced Leicester City in the Champions League group are looking to strengthen in the winter, with Lex Immers emerging as one of their high priority targets.
Lex Immers was initially on the radar of Club Brugge when playing for Feyenoord in the Dutch Eredivisie, however, Immers instead opted for Cardiff City.
As Club Brugge’s interest remains, Michel Preud’homme will be hoping he can prise Lex Immers away from the struggling Championship side.
However, Club Brugge face fierce competition from ADO Den Haag who are also interested in re-signing Lex Immers, either way, Neil Warnock and Cardiff City will face the difficult task of keeping Lex Immers at the club throughout the January transfer window.

I forgot he was actually playing last night.

Sad indeed. He's a totally different player to last season. I think both him and Richardson could've played their last games for us. Chamakh will also go.
