' Wolves Manager Speaks ahead of tonights game '

Football League

Tuesday 13th December 2016

Paul Lambert’s Wolves face a huge game in the Championship tonight against Cardiff City, who currently sit in the relegation zone and just two points behind Wolves, and the Welsh side have experienced a resurgence of their own under the guidance of Neil Warnock.

However, with over a month at Molineux now under his belt, Lambert is impressed with the progress Wolves have made and spoke about a feel-good factor within the Midlands club.

“We’ve only been here four games and we have had to rectify many things that were wrong while also trying to win games. But there’s a better feeling around the club now and I think that’s important.”

“You can see it in the way the lads are playing at the minute, they are full of confidence. They are looking forward to Cardiff and we definitely look a threat, that’s for sure. We look a team capable of scoring goals. But we know and understand we have got to be better defensively.”

On the back of a dramatic 4-4 draw with Fulham, where Wolves trailed 3-1 and led 4-3 with minutes to go, Wolves are full of confidence and have lost just once since Lambert took charge, with their run including a victory over QPR.

Just two points above the relegation zone though, Wolves will be aware of the challenge in hand and tonight’s clash with Cardiff is a must win ahead of fixtures against Nottingham Forest, Bristol City and QPR to close 2016.
