Aston Villa are coming to the Cardiff City Stadium on Monday 3pm, 2nd January 2017.

Cardiff originally gave Aston Villa 2,158 tickets,Villa had requested 5,000 as City's stadium holds 33,500, Villa sold the 2,158 tickets in 24 hours.
This season Villa have sold out where ever they have visited from 2,500 allocations to 5,500 allocations Saturday and night games and even if live on Sky tv,yet on the field they had struggled and only since Steve Bruce took over have they put a decent run together.

This is Villa's second visit to the Cardiff City Stadium in the last 3 years, the other being in the Premier League.

City have given Villa an extra 1,200 tickets, now making it 3,358 fans coming to Cardiff, the biggest away support for years.

Would you have given them anymore than 3,358 tickets, seen as our stadium holds 33,500.

Hopefully we get a 25,000 plus crowd :thumbright: :bluebird:

Many fans might of said they are shocked their bringing that many as fans are usually skint just after Xmas.

3,358 Aston Villa Fans coming to Cardiff.

Can't see it's possible to give them any more because of season ticket holders. Could give them the new stand which holds five thousand but there would be no safe segregation going to and from the ground unless access to Cardiff fans was restricted to the canton end of the Ninian.

Man City and Chelsea are big clubs today but that wasn't always the case. The league of "biggest" clubs is often subjective and not easy to define but apart from big fan base and success, a long and proud tradition is usually an important contributing factor. Villa has that in spades going right back to the League's earliest days. Up until the mid 80s they were the club with the most FA Cup wins under their belt and also have a European Cup to boast about.

These days money is the main factor which can suddenly elevate a club to the higher reaches of the popularity stakes and Villa has had little luck in attracting the levels of investment Man City or Chelsea have enjoyed which has caused their rise to prominence today; but Villa's historic success is much more. Again, Leeds are a big club with potentially huge support but lack Villa's tradition over a longer period. West Ham have only achieved limited success in their history, albeit with an impressive European Cup Winners Cup achievement, but have huge support.

Taking everything into account and excluding Celtic and Rangers because they play in a different league, my top 5 nationwide would be:

Man Utd
Liverpool
Villa
Arsenal
Manchester City

Newcastle, Spurs, Everton, Leeds and Chelsea would be in the next tranche.
