MICK MCCARTHY GIVES IPSWICH INJURY UPDATE AHEAD OF CARDIFF CLASH
08/12/16
Mick McCarthy has told Ipswich Town fans – via the club’s official website – that Brett Pitman is fit and ready to make his return for this Saturday’s clash with Cardiff City.
Brett Pitman has been out for ten weeks with an ankle injury but he made his return when playing 90 minutes for the under-23 side against Huddersfield’s youngsters.
The Jersey man suffered an ankle injury during Ipswich’s 1-0 loss to Leeds United back in September.
After training all week, Pitman is available for selection as Mick McCarthy prepares to host Neil Warnock’s relegation struggling Cardiff City side.
Meanwhile Christophe Berra should also be fit for this weekend.
The Scotland international suffered a cut to the foot following a challenge from Bristol City’s Aaron Wilbraham last weekend but he has recovered and should be clear to play.
It’s not all good news for Ipswich fans, though, as Giles Coke, Luke Hyam and Tommy Smith remain sidelined.
