Healey has been leading the line for Newport County this season
Newport County’s hopes of keeping Rhys Healey could be in tatters with the on-loan Cardiff City striker set to be dropped following a row over interest from FA Cup rivals Plymouth.
Healey has impressed since his move up the M4 from the Bluebirds, bagging six goals to boost hopes of staving off relegation from League Two and helping to put the Exiles in with a chance of a money-spinning FA Cup clash with Liverpool.
It is thought Cardiff City will now loan Rhys Healey to Plymouth in January when his loan with Newport County expires.
And it appears Healey could now be sidelined by Westley for Saturday’s League Two clash with Morecambe – a move that could damage County hopes of landing a further loan agreement with Cardiff.
Bluebirds boss Neil Warnock had recently praised Healey for his displays out on loan and suggested he would be prepared to keep him at Rodney Parade for the remainder of the season.
