' NEIL WARNOCK / KADEEM HARRIS '

Neil Warnock has revealed the unusual motivational talk he gave to Kadeem Harris on his return to the starting XI against Brighton & Hove Albion.
Harris impressed in the early stages of the season but had been limited to appearances from the substitute bench under the new manager.
Warnock revealed that he gave Harris four day's notice that a recall was on the way, before telling him he could keep his place for the Ipswich game if he performed poorly.
He said: "He's done really well in training, and I said to him on Tuesday that he'd be playing him, I felt that he'd deserved it.
"There's one or two lads who've lost a bit of confidence but that'll come back and Kadeem has been flying.
"I said to him that if he was poor today he'd be playing against Ipswich, so make of that what you want."
Harris will now be a strong contender for a starting berth at Portman Road after Craig Noone was left on the bench for the third game in a row. He had been a regular starter in the early stages of Warnock's tenure but his attacking output had not matched his work-rate.
Anthony Pilkington also dropped to the bench for the clash against high-flying Brighton after his defensive credentials were given a stern test during the 3-1 defeat to Aston Villa. However, he did come on to replace Frederic Gounongbe up front as Rickie Lambert missed out through injury.
Defensive awareness has been one of the question marks over Harris' game since Warnock's arrival, but the manager said his performance against the vibrant Gaetan Bong has allayed any doubts.
Indeed, Harris almost put the shine on a good performance when he went close with a long-range effort in the dying minutes of the game.
Warnock said: "It's his weakness, the lads have said that and we spoke to him, and to be honest it didn't look like a weakness to me today. He did ever so well against a very attacking full-back.
"In the end the lad gets a red card for chopping him down so I thought he did really well.
"That would have been the icing on the cake if the left footer had gone in, it would have been like a Roy of the Rovers comic!"
For the most part, Harris had to sacrifice his attacking instincts to help out his full-back but both he and Matt Connolly coped impressively with Brighton's threat.
Cardiff City manager Neil Warnock was pleased with Harris' performance
Neither looked like they had been out of the side for a period of time and although Lee Peltier is likely to come straight back in to the team following his suspension last week, Harris may have done enough to keep his place.
Warnock has already said that he is planning changes to the team's shape ahead of a more winnable run of fixtures, which could give Harris the licence to show of his direct dribbling and raw pace.
That the manager knows he can trust him to carry out his defensive duties diligently was one of the big positives from a precious point gained.

Thought Harris run well yesterday and showed his defensive capabilities. Although don't think defender caught much of him from where I was yesterday but I may be wrong.
Also would like to know who the dick head was who said as we were walking from steps towards concourse ." Kadeem Harris should never play for us again he was shit? ? ? .

Perhaps you should have asked him.

IMHO There is no way he is better than either Noone or Pilkington but is Colin telling Pilkington and Nooney you are not in my plans for the wing berths and looking to offload them both in the transfer window ?

Was it you who said he should never play for us again?

No, I thought he played OK yesterday
I just don't think he'll be a top end championship player as I haven't seen any end product in his 20 odd games. He can do a job a bit like conway used to, but is he or will he ever be as good as Conway, whose crossing was almost as good as Whitts.

Just great man management again from Warnock, the truth is we haven't seen enough of him to make a proper judgement. I think with junior also now offering pace it's a lot less pressure on Harris which he will benefit from.

It was from behind me as I was going down the steps I looked but couldn't see who it was and to be honest at full time everyone just piles out.

Agree about end product but that will hopefully improve

We were at the game and in honesty thought the Kadeem was by far the best player for us on the pitch. He put them under pressure with his pace and forced the other team to make errors. He was exciting to watch and always tried to make things happen! He got one of their players sent off and I'd be gutted if he doesn't start the next match. Yes Noone has proved on his day he is better but he's inconsistent....not something we've seen from Kadeem Harris yet! He deserves to start regularly IMO.

Not being funny but noone offers absolutely no end product going forward he should have been sold years ago when he was still worth something. I'd rather see Harris on any day.
