Everytime i watch them they are poor. Both need to be replaced imo. Give us no creativity or attacking threat fron midfield which is what we are missing in this team badly. Id like to see a no.10 midfielder and another midfielder who can put us on the front foot signed in january to replace these two, opinions?

A midfield pairing to strike fear into the hearts of their own supporters!
The games just seem to pass them both by.
Whitts must be getting close to a ban for the amount of bookings he picks up from being so slow and shit at tackling.
On days like today when even his dead ball delivery is poor it's difficult to see what exactly he is contributing to the team.
Ralls continuing presence as one of the first names on the team sheet is frankly a mystery that only Warnock can explain.

Not so sure Ralls was as bad as you stated. I was happy with him today but he and Gunnar do need more support in midfield come January

Ralls had a decent game today.
I can't see why some are criticising him.
He works box to box, tackles, passes and can shoot too.
The only one of our midfielders who can do all of this

Ralls is dire. I do not understand how he has been a mainstay of our starting 11 for the past 2.5 years. Slade managed out every ounce of attacking ability Ralls had and we've been left with a guy who stops with the ball and always turns sideways or backwards.
Whitts has been great this year, and Warnock clearly thinks he still has something to offer playing in the hole like he did for most of today. Problem is, our No. 9 was flicking balls on which Whitts, who has no legs on him anymore, was seemingly expected to chase. Guy was knackered by 60 minutes, and led to some sure balls from him afterwards.

Spot on. I really don't know what some people see through their weird spectacles.

Gunnarson, Ralls and Whitts are getting by with little threat up front.
But, I would let Gunnar and Whitts go next year
Gunnar is simply a stopper nowadays,he never used to be but he looks a lot heavier than the lad who signed for us and has mobility issues. He need to understand that he needs to give the ball to attacking player quicker and he isn't good enough to spray the ball around. For me he needs a 4231 with genuine modern attacking midfielders. We are a long ball team.
Whitts can only really play in the Malky 4141 possession based game that Trollope wanted (but couldn't do). With Warnock playing it more direct his job is to get closer to the striker, which isn't his strength
Ralls Is a 442 CM. He doesn't need Gunnar behind him and has to make a lot of ground up for Whitts.
For me we need to play with another forward, so have to sacrifice the DCM position, neither Whitts or Gunnar (anymore) are natural CM's. Both would be allowed to leave, and get a championship CM to play with Ralls and a Frazier campbell type striker to play with Lambert.

The last player I'd want to leave is Gunnar, Hari Kari is not as great as it's said to be

Whitts was poor today, but he's had a great season so far.
Ralls simply isn't up to it.
Having said that Brighton created little today so overall we can't be too hard on them or anyone else in the team.

We'll never agree on Whitts or Gunnar

We are basically playing 5 at the back and celebrated our first clean sheet since Gunnars been playing DCM
But today highlighted some of our problems. Gunnar butchered three good move, created by himself by winning the ball because he tried a hard pass (most passes are hard for him though

because he doesn't have the weapons in front of him. To maximise him he needs 3 dribbler or runners to give the ball to. When he plays for Iceland his job is to win the ball and give it to Gylfi, we don't have a Gylfi (Brighton sub number 11 is everything we need)
If we played this system he would be one of our key players, but we don't and i don't recall many of Warnocks teams playing that way

We haven't got the quality of Iceland.......let alone Waitrose!

Gunnar is arguably our player of the season so far, with Bamba right up there with him. How on earth could anyone say Gunnar should be sold based on his recent performances?!

Only someone who'd get a backhander if he were sold I guess

Balance
I don't think he has signed a deal so may go for free in the summer, Does he fit the shape that Warnock wants to play. By playing a DCM we sacrifice a striker.Lambert is costing us a fortune and we need legs around him. We have trouble stopping goals but even more trouble scoring them.
We have a mish mash of players from the last five managers, some on decent wages. It may be to the benefit of next seasons team to let the remnants of DJ and Malky to disappear to build a new team for a new challenge.

Surely Warnock can get the best out of Lex Immers? Seems everyone's forgotten about his contribution last season.

Ralls looked like he had concrete boots on, he is so slow off the mark, and runs round like a headless chicken. Needs to be replaced asap!
Sun Dec 04, 2016 5:51 am
Ralls wouldn't get in my local parks side, offers absolutely nothing.
Ralls tackle your having a laugh, no balls ime afraid.
Whitts to slow, his dead balls today were poor at best.
Sun Dec 04, 2016 6:44 am
THis might interest those who claim he doesn't tackle.
https://www.google.co.uk/amp/www.waleso ... ent=safariOur midfield was awful until Ralls came back into the side start of last season .
This is why all the managers rate him and why there were bigger clubs sniffing around him.
Sometimes think that fans just have to try to find someone to criticise.
Sun Dec 04, 2016 8:45 am
I am not sure what some of our fans expect from him. He is the only player who looked comfortable in the possession, pass, pass theory of Trollope and the very direct stop tossing around with it methods of Warnock.
When we are allowed to play a bit I think he will become even more influential. The problem for Joe is one ageing slow striker or a league 1 replacement in front of him with few other options. Colin has set us up to stop the opposition scoring and we nick a goal or two from set plays as did Malky.
The difference is Malky could play a ball player in that DCM role because the midfield 4 were much better at stopping the opposition getting to our back 4.
The balance isn't right, but out of the three players i think Joe is the least of our problems.
