Cardiff City 0 Brighton 0 :thumbright: :bluebird:

" I thought we had to work really hard, we knew we had to because they’re such a good team. They rip people apart and we knew we had to be organised and try and catch them on the break. I thought Freddie and young Kadeem did well and Gunnarsson was fabulous."

"We haven’t had a clean sheet and it was good to see that against a good side."

" But our free kicks were poor today."

"It was pointless risking (Rickie Lambert) today but I thought Freddie did well for an hour. Everybody’s got a contribute and I thought they did. We lost Peltier, who is probably our best defender, and Rickie as well."

"I might owe Bamba and Morrison a few quid after that game"

The Bluebirds kept quiet a Brighton side that had 'ripped apart' many teams en route to 2nd in the Championship

3rd December 2016

Cardiff City 0 Brighton 0

Neil Warnock revealed just why Cardiff City were able to keep their first clean sheet since the season's opening day as the Bluebirds held high-flying Brighton 0-0.

The veteran boss has been pestering his defenders all week about their inability not to concede, challenging his back four to keep a dangerous Brighton strike duo quiet before kick off.

And he admitted he might now have to dig into his own pockets after their success.

Neither Glenn Murray nor Sam Baldock, who have 16 goals between them this season, had a clearcut opportunity all afternoon, with Ben Amos barely having a save to make, much to Warnock's delight.

"I might owe the two centre halves a few quid because we haven't had a clean sheet," he said.

"They came up to me at the end of the game and said 'what were you saying gaffer?' but that was good to see.

"We lost Peltier who is probably our best defender, but credit to the lads who came in. They did really well today.

"We've been owed a few clean sheets but the players are going out tonight."

Warnock was also delighted with the commitment of his players.

"We had to work hard. I don't think there was any player who didn't give everything today," he added.

"We knew we had to because they're such a good team. They rip people apart. We had to be well organised and catch them on the break when we could and I thought the players did exactly what we've been working on all week."

Warnock reserved special praise for Kadeem Harris who came into the side in place of Anthony Pilkington, as well as the ever-reliable Aron Gunnarsson .

"The midfield held their ground and young Kadeem did well," Warnock added.

Whites was poor today.
Chasing the opposition all game didn't suit him but strangely his delivery was very poor also. Ralls only looked better because he had more of an engine to get around and cover but I'm surprised NW kept him on as it seemed that he shirked a few tackles and arial challenges.
