City today faced the biggest test so far at home this season with the visit of second placed Brighton who have been scoring goals for fun and with City leaking goals, City really were going to be up against it.
A win for Brighton would take them top of the Championship and win for Cardiff would at least close the gap on the clubs above them and maybe take Cardiff out of the bottom three.
In a stadium which today looked lifeless and a first half which shocked everyone as this on paper looked like an attacking game, the match on the pitch was as bad as looking at the rows of empty seats.
A very very boring first half by both teams
The half ended with a foray forward from Cardiff that - again - coma to nothing after a complete lack of composure in the final third. That’s been the story of the afternoon so far, I’m afraid.
POSSESION FIRST-HALF
CARDIFF 31% BRIGHTON 69%
SHOTS
CARDIFF 4 BRIGHTON 3
ON TARGET
CARDIFF 1 BRIGHTON 0
Half-time Cardiff City 0 Brighton 0
Brighton improved in the second half and with Cardiff defending for long periods,City fans finally got behind their team singing loud Barmy Army![]()

Kadeem Harris had been good, But he needed someone to aim at.
Brighton had the ball in the net but disallowed![]()

Brighton attacked and attacked for the last 10mins, but City held out![]()
GREAT POINT IN MY OPINION![]()

Sol Bamba. A rock at all times. He won header after header this afternoon.

The team were received well enough in what was a boring encounter, but a very important point.
