Neil Warnock's message to Cardiff City fans

WARNOCK: "It’s all together really and the fans have a major part to play."

"It’s a massive club, even I didn’t realise how big."

"This club is waiting, like Brighton were when Chris went in."

" I’d like to think this club could be looking to do what they’ve done in 12 months. They streamlined the squad then brought players in. I’ve got to do my bit and then the club has to do their bit."

"I don’t think there is panic, not even with the fans. I’m going to tell them what I think then it’s up to them, isn’t it? They’re pretty sensible, they’ll see what I do in January and before then."

I think that's very unhelpful to this fanbase at his stage - who are just coming round to the the reality with where we are as a club and finally satisfied with the size of it. Last thing we need is Hammam type comments pandering to the fickle nature of the fan, it will only make expectations massive again. We are not a massive club at all, we are a small/medium sized club and will probably always be that way. The Championship these days is a whos who of former Premier League clubs and genuine big clubs - we aren't one of them. We are 16th in ave attendance ffs.

You can forgive managers for thinking that we are a big club, when you consider the amount of media work that they have to do. No other clubs our size in England get as much media coverage, with about 4 pretty large newspapers continually wanting feeding, I suspect that's why they fall into the trap of thinking that we are bigger than we are :ayatollah:

Cardiff could be a big unfortunately its one and only golden era ended in 1929. Since then its had no tangible success to build up a big solid fanbase.

That's a decent point in fairness, although in my opinion he knows full well the state of play, he is just trying to rile the fans up and pander to us a little. Ok for short term thinking but if he carries on that party line - we are left with a fanbase that expects the results of a big club again after believing this empty hype, something that we have only just managed to purge ourselves of after 15 years of pandering chairmen and gullible fans. We are finally finding ourselves and becoming comfortable in our own skin again.

From some of the comments in the Forum some should look at attendance figures in the years prior to our season in the promised land which showed a steady increase in support ? If circumstances had been different and we had managed to stay up the Stadium would be full.

Yes some where Plastics but Hello most Clubs in the Prem have Plastics. All you got to do is look down the road at the Jacks and i'm sure we are bigger than them when successful ?

Agree! That Premier season was absolutely pivotal to us and a couple of characters conspired to f**k it up

Yes, so were many others around the Sam Hammam era, thankfully it is an attitude that is dying out, slowly. Long may it continue. Realism is the only way.
