Cardiff City paid about £3.5mill for Bruno Manga and City will sell him this coming January,Neil Warnock has confirmed today.

Cardiff City have already received interest in Bruno Manga after Neil Warnock confirmed he's ready to offload the big-earning centre-back.

Bluebirds boss Warnock had already warned he would be prepared to sell senior players if it means he can land the January deals he thinks can push Cardiff up the Championship table.

And he has now admitted he has told Manga he can move on with the right offer when the window opens next month.
I’m looking to get him away. He’s all for it, he understands. I’ve got to do some financial wheeling and dealing.
I’ve had no problem with Bruno, in fact in the last couple of weeks he’s been fantastic in his training, and it wouldn’t bother me putting him in if I had to before now and the African Nations.
But, just because we might try and move on or two financially, doesn’t mean he’s going to go. And if he doesn’t he’ll be part of the plans for the rest of the season, you can’t write anybody off.
But when you look at how you’re going to thin the squad, there may be one or two surprises because I might have to generate money to bring the ones I want in.

The African Nations is not going to make it any easier, but we’ve had three or four clubs from different countries ask about him. He’s got a very global agent so I’m sure there’ll be phonecalls happening all the time and people watching him in the Cup of Nations might be a good thing.

Bruno Manga has made 41 international appearances for Gabon

Cardiff City defender Bruno Ecoule Manga is set to leave the Championship club in January according to manager Neil Warnock.

The 28-year-old Gabon international is in the squad for Saturday's home tie with Brighton.

But Warnock sees his departure as key to revamping his squad in the New Year and says there has already been some interest in the player.

"I'm looking to get him away. He's all for it," Warnock told BBC Wales Sport.

"He understands, I've got to do some financial wheeling and dealing."

Cardiff City manager Neil Warnock has revealed that Bruno Ecuele Manga will leave the Welsh club in January.

02/12/16

Speaking in an interview with BBC Wales Sport, Neil Warnock confirmed that Cardiff City had received enquiries for Manga and that everyone is keen for a deal to be pushed through.

The Gabon international – who has 41 caps for his country – joined Cardiff in 2014 after a four year stint with French outfit Lorient.

He had previously played for Bordeaux and Angers SCO in France too.

The 28-year-old has made over 50 appearances in his two and a half year stay in South Wales and was a key member of Cardiff’s side in 2014/15 and 2015/16.

This season, however, Manga has found his playing time limited with just nine league appearances to his name.

He has not played since featuring on the 1st October against Burton and Neil Warnock is yet to select him as he prefers his first choice centre back partnership of Sean Morrison and Sol Bamba.

Warnock is keen to improve his squad in January but has to sell to buy.

Speaking to BBC Wales Sport he revealed that Manga “understands” and is very keen on a move away.

Not a surprise but will be sad to see him go because when he's on form he knocks spots off most Champs CB's - all the best Bruno :bluescarf:

Cardiff City defender Bruno Ecoule Manga is set to leave the Championship club in January as manager Neil Warnock plans a revamp of his squad.

The Gabon international has not played under Warnock, who says there could also be some surprise departures.

"I'm looking to get him away. I've got to do some dealing," he said.

"When you look at how you're going to thin the squad, there may be surprises because I might have to generate money to bring the ones I want in."

Manga, 28, was a £5m signing from French club L'Orient in September 2014 and is due to take part in the African Cup of Nations in January.

Warnock hopes that will not be a hindrance to a potential move, and says the player supports his plan.

"He's all for it. He understands," said the former Crystal Palace boss.

"Just because we might try and move one or two financially, doesn't mean he's going to go.

"If he doesn't, he'll be part of the plans for the rest of the season, you can't write anybody off.

"The African Nations is not going to make it any easier, but we've had three or four clubs from different countries ask about him.

"He's got a very global agent so I'm sure there'll be phone calls happening all the time and people watching him in the Cup of Nations might be a good thing."

Paul Trollope
Paul Trollope was head coach at Cardiff before being appointed assistant to Brighton manager Chris Hughton
Manga is included in the squad for Saturday's visit of Brighton, a match that sees previous boss Paul Trollope return to the Cardiff City Stadium for the first time since leaving on 4 October.

Warnock, who managed Trollope as a player at Torquay, says the Brighton assistant manager has joined the "best team" in the Championship.

''It just did not work out for him here," added Warnock.

"Sometimes fate has a big part to play in your life and I think he is in a great place at the moment.

"He's a smashing bloke, it's a wonderful club and I think they will go up this year.

"It's a great time to go on board. He will be disappointed because nobody likes getting the sack, I have had it a few times.

"You look back at where you made mistakes and what you could do better he will be a better person for it. But it's not very nice at the time."

I would love to have seen him develop a partnership with Bamba

Didn't reach his potential here which is a crying shame. Makes sense to move on as he is probably taking part in the African tournament in the New Year. Doubt we will receive a fee for him but his wages can be utilised elsewhere.

Would have been the most solid partnership in the league IMO

If he plays in the the African nations cup I can't see anyone signing him til the end of January which will leave not much time to spend some money.

The African Nation's Cup final is Feb 5th , he could be playing in it. I fear a deal to sell him will be very difficult and we cannot rely on it to fund signings

Never really rated him - yes he had undoubted skill and qualities but too fancy and clumsy.

Morrison had better up his game defensively - how did he let that Villa guy leap all over him for their 2nd?

Bamba not without fault either recently.

You should be watching PSG or Barca, less mistakes than the championship.
