Cardiff City Vs Brighton and Hove Albion: Match Preview
Date and Time: Saturday 3rd December (15.00)

Venue: Cardiff City Stadium

Referee: Roger East

Cardiff City host high-flyers Brighton and Hove Albion as they look to bounce back from defeat against Aston Villa last time out.

The Bluebirds welcome second placed Brighton and Hove Albion to the Cardiff City Stadium as they look to end a disappointing run of three defeats in four games.

Paul Trollope returns to the Cardiff City Stadium this weekend after being appointing on the Brighton back-room staff last week – he previously worked with Chris Hughton on two occasions. Trollope was sacked as Cardiff City boss in October after a poor start to the season.

Cardiff were beaten by a rejuvenated Aston Villa time out, leaving them back in the relegation zone after Blackburn Rovers’ shock win at Newcastle. Neil Warnock was left disappointed with his team’s defensive efforts despite promising signs going forward.

Brighton come into this one in a fine vein of form and currently sit just two points behind leaders Newcastle United. The Seagulls are currently on a run of 12 league games unbeaten, their last defeat was all the way back in early September against Brentford.

Last time out, Brighton took three points at home against Fulham thanks to another Glenn Murray winner. The experienced striker has already netted 11 times this season and is just two goals behind the Championship’s leading scorer, Dwight Gayle.

The soaring Seagulls will provide another tough test for the Bluebirds but they do have a healthy record against Saturday’s opposition in recent years. Cardiff haven’t lost against Brighton in their last four meetings and only have two losses in their last 13 fixtures, dating back to 2004.

When the two sides met last season, Cardiff come out on top with a memorable 4-1 home victory to end Brighton’s promising run of form. The two sides shared a 1-1 draw at the AMEX Stadium in the earlier meetings, in the premature stages of the season.
