' SEAN MORRISON? & BEN AMOS? '

No easy solutions to defensive problems... but I do have a couple of thoughts

It's so obvious but Cardiff just have to cut out these defensive errors if they are to get anywhere.

You can tell from every game that Sol Bamba has real leadership qualities and the way he's playing, they should be looking to give him another year on his contract. If not in January then definitely the summer. Make him the guy you build your defence around, because you've got a lovely little balance in him, Gunnarsson, and Morrison, even though you might want another centre-back at some stage.

SEAN MORRISON?

We highlighted last week that in the opposition box Sean Morrison was unbelievable, but couldn't win a header in our own box. Sure enough, one of the goals came from that last weekend, when Jonathan Kodjia leapt high above him in the box. I don't want to single Sean out but I just don't get it. Usually it's strikers who are great in the opposition box but don't take responsibility in their own box, because for whatever reason they're not as powerful. But usually a defender defends his own box like a Trojan and just tries to get on the end of things in the other box.

I'm not saying he's the one at fault, there are a lot of errors being made, but I think that's one element that is really being highlighted.

BEN AMOS?

On top of that, and no disrespect to Ben Amos, but I do think an experienced goalkeeper would be on the shopping list, everyone jokes about Paddy Kenny but we know Warnock likes to do it, it wouldn't be a surprise if he brought someone in.

When your centre-half makes a mistake but your goalkeeper saves them more often than not, it's a massive confidence boost. David Marshall really had that aura and he was very much at the helm in the dressing room. For example, look at what Hugo Lloris does for Spurs, that save he made against Monaco, the centre-half was on his knees, couldn't believe what he'd just witnessed. It just can't be understated how important a keeper is, the most important part of the defence. He can see everything, who is making runs, who is covering, who isn't.

Ben Amos has done little wrong but is experience needed?
