The big problem Neil Warnock will have trying to attract players

By Nathan Blake

Thursday 1st December 2016

The problem they will have trying to attract players is longevity.

If I'm representing a player, I'm thinking, OK we can sign for you in January but you could be gone in the summer, and my player is going to be on a three or four year contract. I know the kind of turmoil that's gone at the club prior so if you leave, what plans are in place?

Is it going to be a continuation, say Kevin Blackwell, or are they going to back to a new manager with a little experience? You just don't know. So if I'm an agent that would be the problem for me.

I've always thought that Warnock was here to steady the club and then perhaps Blackwell to take over once he calls it a day.

Cardiff is not that much of an attraction to the standard of players we want.

Samba and Hoilet are those standard players we need but they were out of work and basically needed a break. We got lucky BUT will we be lucky to keep them come January? If they both imoress which they are doing come January they will be free to go. Nothing we can do about it if another club comes along and offers them a decent deal. Of course we can offer them a better one but that will be down to one man.

Surely the same problem exists at most other clubs as well? Only a small percentage of managers stay more than 18 months.

spot on.in our division alone villa, derby, qpr, wolves, wigan, rotherham ,like our selves have already changed manager this season.and reading, forest, newcastle leeds, bristol city, fulham, barnsley and blackburn have managers who have yet to serve 12 months.
lucky your not an agent Nathen, youd have a lot of unemployed footballers.
