THE GREAT Vodafone RIP OFF!!!! BEWARE!!!!

I used to work for a company that was based on Queen Street, you should have heard of them, they were called Communications Direct. When I worked for them they used to sponsor us (Cardiff City) and were shady as hell. Miss selling was how you got results there! Not that I ever did and that is why I had to leave! Surely any big respectable company would not steep to that sort of thing????

I was called by a so called Vodafone agent about getting broadband installed. They told me I may have to pay for installation but I could have the service for free for 18 months! They said that there would be NO additional charges as I was a good existing customer but they wanted me to take the step up to getting broad band.I rang Vodafone to make sure this bloke was a genuine member of staff and was told that an official Vodafone agent had just contacted me! The agent that I contacted direct also CONFIRMED that there would be no aditional charges! He was obviously linked into the system!

I set it up at my billed address so that my parents could use it. I invested almost £400 in Kodi Boxes and Internet radios for my parents as I thought with FREE broadband for 18 months it would be worth it! Im sure my parents would continue to pay after that.

I have been charged an extra £42 this month by Vodafone and had a suprise debit drop into my bank. I contacted them and very calmly set about getting to the bottom of it. People are a lot more open with you if you dont stress and more relaxed about giving information. As I joked with the representative he let slip that they have outside agents who get commision!! :?

This raises the question why shoud I be paying an aditional £4 for broadband and £18 for my bill when I have been quoted £0 by an official rep of the company!!!! This would mean removing the line rental charge of £18 per month also! :o

I was very polite and got all I needed to know from the various people I spoke to. I have escalated it as a complaint. They offered to waive the broad band costs of the contract but that still leaves me with a bill of £18 per month I shouldnt moraly have! I asked for it to be noted that I wasn't happy with waiving the broadband and wanted a bill of £0 extra as stated!

I told the last rep that he was very profesional and I had no beef with him. I told him to be sure to note on my escalation that I had said this was ilegal and would be pursuing it to a satisfactory conclusion which is the contract as described!

Its no good someone telling me its not our policy after I have set it up and put my hand in my pocket. Its their rep so they need to be managing them or facing the consequences! It took almost 2 hours of my time to get this far and its lucky I dont start work till 4pm.

I think Vodafone is turning a blind eye to these indescretions as it buoys up their figures! How many victims of this are rolling over and then footing the bill????

The irony is I thought I had been robbed by some card cloner or something when the debit popped up only to discover it was a big company like Vodafone!! Its a disgraceful way to run any business!

Has anyone been miss sold a contract by a Vodafone Agent??

Oh Christ mate don't even get me started with this shockingly poorly run shambles of a company. This has nothing to do with Broadband but it may give you insight into how Voda operate, my missus and her Mother have had a few dealings with Voda of late and the service they have received is abysmal.

It all started with my missus’s and her Mother’s bills increasing by £20 + each month, missus downgraded to save monies but her bill for the following month was still high, back n forth with Voda, not getting any joy, turns out a company called Zamano had sent her an email on behalf of Vodaphone relating to her bill which she opened, this then added her to Zamano’s list and they had been charging her £3 for every email they sent, Voda said they were not aware of the company doing this but I know a guy who works for Voda who checked my missus account and saw that Zamano had been appointed on behalf of Voda to do this, so I rang Voda to speak with a manager, back n forth for about 1 hour, finally spoke to a manager and opened a complaint, I then rang through to Zamano who agreed to remove my missus and Mother off their list then sent confirmed in total over both accounts they had taken about £450, they reimbursed this within 3 days, Voda’s manager was an absolute joke, recorded the call as he was getting personal, have opened a complaint with trading standards who have advised to continue to monitor the situation and they will write to Voda.

Voda are the worst company I have had dealings with, you cannot speak to an operative who speaks proper English (not being racist), so I would avoid at all costs

If they want their £18 a month they can have it but im going to cut and paste a link to this and put it on a different forum every day! In a week I will hit face book, the following week I will go to the local press and the week after I will put a poster outside each of their local shops, the next week Twitter, the next week a you tube video then the next week a petition. If things are going well at this point I will aproach a National Paper and explain what drove me to do it! Im not giving up until my case is viral!

Im just one man but I have social media and a few minutes a day and thats all I need! If they want to do me for liable great they can take me to court and prove me wrong! :ayatollah:

There are very few companies out there which play by the rules. The pressure they put on lowly salespeople to basically shaft the public is immense.
