Players rejected from our youth systems

Over the years many a player has been rejected by our youth development systems . That could be from our academy , centre of excellence etc
I have seen outrage in the past about City letting players go including my own son. However I am struggling to think of many players who came for a trail or were part of the teams we had in place who we released who have gone onto greater things and we would want in a city side Maybe Bellamy was the only one I can really think of in 40 years I believe Bale just went to Southampton by choice as they were an academy at the time

Can any one think of youth player we let go and did well in the game

Its a good point mate, south wales doesnt seem to do that well in terms of getting lads into professional football for a multitude of reasons.

It is hilarious when supporters moan and groan about letting our youngsters go but you don't hear anything of them when we get rid of them, it's just another way for supporters to have a go at the board when really it's not about the board it's about the recruitment and the people involved in the set up for the younger ages that are letting us down.

I was not sure if he had a trail and was never picked up I do mention trails above

the top prem clubs trawl up all the best talent and anyone they somehow miss and ends up with us, well they come back pay peanuts to us,backhanders to parents and pinch the boy.very negative but true.

Earnshaw,Collins,Gunter,Ramsay,Ledley,Matthews,Ralls,John all came through our Academy but somehow we missed out on Bale,Bellamy,Cotterell all local boys?

If you search Cardiff born professional footballers their have been 103. Two others we missed out on are of course Ryan Giggs and Terry Yorath whose brother was in our Academy?

Fred keenor .injured in world war but a legend for city in their one and only golden era.

Manchester have only produced 106 professional footballers compared to our 103 and yet they have two top Premiership teams so producing footballers over the years is not the problem,it's our rubbish owners and managers?
