If you're going to Villa I want to see you at the next few away games as well don't just jump on this one because it's a big ground/Club :bluebird:

If your happy to take me wife Xmas shopping, run my business and sort the kids then it's a deal!!! :laughing5: I get what your saying but have already had this conversation, some of us can't go here there and everywhere. Have always picked my 5 or 6 based on when I can go and what I fancy, this one I fancy just like I did Burton and Fulham was a free weekend. Bristol city is always nailed, that's they way it is for a lot of people.

Totally agree. Away trips ain't cheap so just be thankful that a lot of our fans are forking out their hard earned to support the lads at Villa. :bluescarf:

I'm going Villa and I went to Newcastle at the start of the month, but I'm not going to London on Boxing day nor am I going to Brighton on New Years Eve.
Now I've given you a choice, do you want to slate me for being skint for the Ipswich trip or do you want to slate me for spending time with my family during the holidays.
5 or 6 aways is enough for me each season and I like going to new grounds

In fairness the OP wasn't slating, just posting something I probably would have ten years ago. Times change, priorities change but the old skool still come out when needed. Bring on the villa.

I'm planning on going to Villa and with the expensive Christmas period approaching, I will pick and choose what future games I will go to, unless you fancy giving me a few hundred quid so I can go to other games as well?

I'm jumping on the band wagon first away game since Chelsea away in the fa cup, I was banned for 4 years though after that

There was a time when I went everywhere and in one 10 season rum missed only a couple of games anywhere but peoples priorities and commitments change. I have always retained a season ticket and now look to do between 6 - 8 aways. I will be at Villa having been at Burton (as a new ground). I accept however that if there are limited tickets I will now struggle to qualify for a ticket - I accept that. But as long as there are tickets available I am happy that we take as many fans as possible. Now the kids have grown up going away is easier but the cost makes it prohibitive. The one thing I and many City fans remember of days gone by is the togetherness rather than the in fighting. Together Stronger

No sorry, I don't agree with your sentiments.
I have been a season ticket holder for many years and I will pick and choose which away games I would like to go to. Villa is one of them. Don't take the moral high ground. You go to almost every away game? Good for you. Not all of us can afford to. I work shifts and it's hard enough to get the home games off. I'm happy in knowing I support my team through and through, and make the home games. No fan is better than the other!

Yeah I get that but it annoys me when people try be a "bigger fan" cause they go to Blackburn on a Tuesday night or go across to Norwich for the day. If I had the time and money I'd definitely do more away trips but realistically each away probably costs a minimum of £50 for ticket and travel alone

I didn't go away once last season and am going to Villa, the only others I'm going to this season will be possibly Bristol City, Brentford, Leeds and potentially Derby. If, on the off chance we are in with a shout of the play offs or god forbid relegation if my finances allow I might chuck in another one or two , yep you got it I pick and choose what suits me

Nope rules clearly state you can't pick and choose away games it's either all or none.

That's disappointing, I was buzzing for Blackburn away on the Tuesday, had 2 days off work ready for it, best cancel my holidays then
