Cardiff City are set to sell Bruno Ecuele Manga in the upcoming January transfer window

The 28-yera-old defender had been a big signing when he was brought to the club from Lorient back in 2014 for a massive £4m fee. However he has fallen out of favour this season and hasn’t appeared for the first team since the Bluebirds took on Burton Albion all the way back in August.

And while Ecuele Manga has been brilliant for Cardiff at times, which has seen him being linked with big money moves away from South Wales, it appears that their new head coach Neil Warnock isn’t a fan and he is prepared to sell the defender and take a massive loss in the January transfer window. His contract is set to expire in the summer and the club are looking to get any cash back for a man they spent so much on, even if it is just a small amount. And with him also reportedly being the highest earner at the club, his sale would help Cardiff comply with Financial Fair Play rules.

There is only going to be one issue when selling Ecuele Manga and that will be the African Cup of Nations. The defender is set to play at the competition for Gabon during the winter which could take him out of action for a month and a half. Because of that, teams may be unwilling to risk the investment for a player they won’t get to play for them until February.
