The major stumbling block could be Mutch's wages with his reported earnings at Selhurst Park being £35,000 a week which could well scare off the Bhoys
Brendan Rodgers could offer ex-Cardiff City midfielder Jordon Mutch an escape route out of Crystal Palace in the January transfer window by taking the 24-year-old north of the border to Celtic.
The Scottish Premier League pacesetters are ready to reinforce their squad in the new year and former Swansea and Liverpool boss Rodgers is reported to have targeted the former Bluebird in a cut-price £2.5m deal.
It is thought struggling Palace, who travel to Swansea City this weekend in a massive game at the bottom of the Premier League table, won't stand in Mutch's way having played just eight minutes in the top flight this season.
The major stumbling block could be Mutch's wages with his reported earnings at Selhurst Park being £35,000 a week which could well scare off the Bhoys.
And Rodgers is not prepared to get into a bidding war for his services with Championship outfit Aston Villa also thought to be showing an interest.
Mutch's career has stalled since he played a key role in Cardiff City's march to the Championship title in 2013 and, in September that year, scored the goal which secured the Bluebirds their first top flight away win since 1961.
He left the Cardiff City Stadium for QPR in August, 2014, but struggled to nail down a regular starting slot at Loftus Road.
A year later moved across London to Palace in a £4.75m deal.
But he has fallen out of favour with Palace boss Alan Pardew starting just two League Cup matches for the club this term as well as eight minutes in the Premier League.

You'd have to be pretty desperate to leave the premiership to go to Celtic they wont even have European football as a pull the rest the season

Reza,Totally agree, lower standard football than the Championship.

He can really put himself in the shop window up there though. Will play every week against a lower standard team.
