THE CITY PLAYER NOT RATED BY PREVIOUS MANAGERS/SOME FANS & CITY EVEN TRIED TO GET RID

NOW THE BACKBONE OF NEIL WARNOCKS CARDIFF CITY TEAM :thumbright:

ARON GUNNARSSON IS A LEADER/VIKING AND ONE OF THE BEST PLAYERS IN THE CHAMPIONSHIP

Neil Warnock: "Gunners is a leader and a Viking for Iceland and Cardiff City and for me one of the best players in the Championship"

“He's a manager's dream really, it's a similar situation to what I had last year at Rotherham with Greg Halford, who was bombed out when I went there and he ended up a manager's dream. Gunnars is the same, he wasn't playing and you wonder why because he's as good as anything in the league.”

Warnock sees these committed, all-action displays as vindication for his decision to install him as the midfield screen immediately after arriving in South Wales.

Warnock had said on Friday that he and Gunnarsson are in agreement that it's his best position.

Warnock said: “I think he appreciates that I feel his best position is where he plays now, I've always thought that from afar. I think he's revelling in that because he knows what he's doing and I don't think there's anyone as good in the Championship at that. I think he can chip in with the odd goal or two, too. I've asked him and the other to work on that and help us out with that.”

That odd goal may well be the final frontier for Gunnarsson, who headed just wide in the opening stages against Huddersfield.

If he manages to get on the score sheet with any kind of regularity, then there will be no debate. No defensive midfielder in this league would come close.

Agree ! Always been a fan of gunnar and his fantastic work rate, desire and fight. I've also noticed in recent weeks alot more skill and little flicks inside than I give credit for.
And how brave was he yesterday when he was on the floor and still put his head in and headed it of someone's foot!!! Superb :ayatollah:

The club need to be more on the ball when it comes to contracts cos we've lost to much by letting ppl go for next to nothing while signing players not good enough and paying them off whoever is in charge of negotiations needs to get gunnar signed and whitts and the likes of Morrison and peltier need to be looked after too

Annis he's going nowhere although was on his way out before Warnock arrived, loves it at city and settled and now a shoe in under Warnock. He's never been a footballer, he is what he is and to think ogs even played him off the front two is unbelievable. He does what it says on the tin. Like an old coach used to say do what your good at not stuff your not so good at, he looks like a man possessed. Put the contract and he will sign.

False assumptions there my old fruit, I liked Malky, but Slade? I've never once backed him, as a matter of fact I was quite the opposite but never felt the need to constantly knock him either.

You on the other hand, have not got a single decent thing to say about anyone or anything. You're the most miserable individual to ever post on this message board without a single doubt in my opinion.

Gunnarsson has taken his game to another level under NW and being played in this CDM position. I still think we are still to see the best of him. Along with Whitts, another City legend for me, love his attitude and workrate. And his wife.

No defensive midfielder in this league would come close.
because people have different opinions than you should not be called clueless,a little more respect would be welcome

Oh the irony, you were one of the worst for slating Slade and called him far worse than clueless. So maybe you should have had a little more respect also?

Can you tell me how Slade has been doing recently and oh yes how is Mackay, another one of your heroes, how is he doing?

False assumptions there my old fruit, I liked Malky, but Slade? I've never once backed him, as a matter of fact I was quite the opposite but never felt the need to constantly knock him either.

You on the other hand, have not got a single decent thing to say about anyone or anything. You're the most miserable individual to ever post on this message board without a single doubt in my opinion.

Humbug Bah...don't really no what you mean

Always liked gunnars, but also like Warnock's admiration of Halford, now that would be a quality signing.
