I can only speak for my house where the reception on the second box is excellent. Also, it only lags behind the original box by a couple of seconds. We also use iPads and those are excellent too, with virtually no delay. I'm told that as long as you have a good wifi/broadband into the house there should be no issues. I've had mine for about 6 weeks now and I'm impressed.

I have it. Each box talks to reach other as well as the router, so it forms a chain that has many contacts not just one so in essence you get a fail safe if one can contact the other. Great quality and it's apparent that sky are pushing you toward downloadable or streaming as the TV guide is very much second fiddle to suggested watching.

Works great with Sky Broadband - not so clever with BT or other routers , have had several engineer visits and a problem with a second mini box still exists, apparently my walls are too thick in that part of the house (Extension etc) and we are only talking a distance of approx 10 feet from the main box to the second box that drops out

I have had several refunds for the service in the six months since I've had it so although its a pain in the arse you just have to keep complaining and escalating the issue - I wrote to CEO of Sky at the last time of asking - I have my own personal executive complaint handler now and things have been fine for the last couple of weeks - Apparently the new BT Home Hub 6 is a cause of drop outs and engineers have advised that a software fix is being worked on- they also mentioned that the original plan was to only release Sky Q with Sky broadband - it was a last minute change that released the system to all providers.

When it works its great. Ultra HD is added bonus and the larger size hard drive formats are good too.

If you are prepared to stick with it and know how to complain if things go wrong its ok - Also if you have the time and flexibility to keep waiting for engineers to visit - Also worth having a look on Sky Forums and message boards - many having similar issues - but in the long run , once the software is upgraded and bugs ironed it it should be ok!!! :laughing6:

I have BT broadband but the Home Hub 5 router and have had no issues. I won't bother to upgrade to Homehub 6 for a while then!

The Sky engineer was pretty comprehensive at my place. They check the signal between box and mini and will give you a booster if the signal seems low.

As we have an extension there is an old external wall between the boxes. To date I have had no issues however the boxes are next to the TV's and not in the cabinet below. Wood is a pain for signals supposedly.

I really like Sky Q. The minis are good but don't support ultraHD (only the main box does). I had BT Broadband and now Sky broadband and it worked fine with both however I live in a new build and the walls are paper thin!
