NEIL WARNOCK SAYS WHAT HE THOUGHT

Neil Warnock said: "It's games like these that keep me out of retirement. You can't replicate the feeling when you hear the final whistle and get a result like that.
"Everyone gave everything on the pitch - there were no shirkers.
"It was just a cracking Championship game today. I would've taken a point before the game started."

Cardiff came into the game off the back of two consecutive defeats to Wigan and Newcastle, but the home win against Huddersfield puts them two points away from the drop zone.

Junior Hoilett netted his first goal for the club since arriving on a free transfer last month.
And Warnock was full of praise for the winger, who he managed at QPR.
He added: "I rang him about five times in the middle of the summer when I kept thinking I was getting a club and kept him on board.

"I did think he'd get snapped up, if I'm honest. I don't know why he didn't because the money he's on is not astronomical.
"But, I said to him 'come 'til January and I'll put you in the shop window,' and he wanted to come until the end of the season, which I thought was brilliant. He does enjoy playing for me.
"Now, you'll see him get better than what you saw today because he can score goals."

Huddersfield managers reaction

Huddersfield boss David Wagner bemoaned his team's inability to defend free-kicks and corners.

Two of Cardiff's three goals came from set-pieces and it's been an ongoing problem for the Terriers - especially away from home - where they have won just twice since September.

Wagner said: "The away form isn't worrying. The form is good, we just need to sort out the set-pieces.
"We've scored two goals, but come away with nothing? We just need to keep on working on it and hope it improves.
"We have to blame ourselves for how easy we gave the goals away.
"We were aware about it, we worked on it, but defending set-pieces is always about one against one and we lost too many of them."
It's now one win in six for Huddersfield, which has seen them drop out of the top two and down to fourth.

Warnock says all the right things old fashioned type of manager which I love about him.no pre Madonna in the team don't think he would allow it .
Hes organised the team made it hard to beat and you can see the team want to play for him we have our mojo back he says goals are a problem and we go get three .
Hrs doing a good job and so is the team it all seems to be a perfect blend cardiff fans love blood and guts and we have in abundance.
Well done to all long may it continue. :bluebird:

How old would a player have to be to be " pre- Madonna"? I suppose it depends on whether you mean the religious icon or the pop singer.

Come on now, that's not fair: I've seen many matches when you would have thought some of our players were from the pre Madonna era.
