There's another £369m gone out our pockets

She should pay for it out of her own pocket

Buckingham Palace is to undergo a 10-year refurbishment costing the taxpayer £369m, the Treasury has announced.
The Queen will remain in residence during the work, to begin next April.
Ageing cables, lead pipes, wiring and boilers will be replaced, many for the first time in 60 years, amid fears about potential fire and water damage.
Tony Johnstone-Burt, Master of the Queen's Household, said phased works offered the "best value for money" while keeping the palace running.

The OP is also forgetting that the queen doesn't own the palace.

Wez, many countries including America would love to have the Royal Family, they bring massive publicity to our country, put us on the map around the World and more importantly bring more revenue to the UK than they cost us :thumbright: :thumbright:

People on this forum are forever condemning scrounges, but this lot are the worst. What's the point in the civil list when we have to pay for the upkeep of their houses? and don't give "they don't own it" bollocks. They're hardly on short hold tenancies. Tourism wouldn't be affected, plenty visit the Palace of Versailles with the French having got rid of their lot centuries ago. It's the history that brings in tourism

I didn't visit it because there is no current monarchy there didn't see the point. Would have if there was.

I disagree, Wales doesn't get any money from the royal family in London.

That hardly undermines my argument. You don't need someone living in a historical building to make it economically viable as a cultural attraction. You are the exception to the rule

"That hardly undermines my argument"

No, but a net economic contribution of around £36BN does.

We get more money back from Westminster than what we give them in taxes, We need London more than they need Wales.
We could not survive on our own.

For a hundred years the British State survived on cheap Labour from Wales and their industries still rely on cheap Water from Wales, we still export more than any other part of the uk in percentage terms - Yet we have to pay for things like the London Olympics which only continues to benefit the south east of England. We are also committed to policy's which do not reflect the wishes of the Welsh population, most of us wish to spend money on Love and Care NOT Wars and Weapons.

Some minor events - whoopie, no capital investment involved.
