The Football League have now announced the Match Day officials that will take charge of the game against Huddersfield Town this Saturday.

Cardiff City host Huddersfield Town on Saturday November 19 for the game at the Cardiff City Stadium and the match carries a 3pm kick off.

Referee: James Adcock
Linesmen: Nick Hopton and Adam Matthews

Match Day referee Adcock has officiated 16 games in 2016/17 with a return of 48 yellows and one red card.

His highest card count this year was seven yellows in the Barnsley v Aston Villa game.

He took in 31 matches in 2015-16 and in those games, across all competitions and football divisions, he handed out a total of 70 yellow cards and one red card.

He was most card happy in the match between Birmingham and Sheffield Wednesday in February with five yellow cards shown.

Adcock qualified in 2000 aged 16, following in his father`s footsteps, who also officiated in the EFL. Adcock was appointed to the EFL as an assistant referee in 2008 and to the National List of Referees in 2011/12. In his five seasons at this level he has refereed over 150 EFL matches. He has also participated in the PGMO exchange programme which enable referees to gain experience of different football cultures. He has refereed games in America, Japan, China, Iceland and Denmark, enabling him to share experiences with international colleagues and learn new skills.

Let`s hope it`s not another repeat and more of our players edge closer to automatic bans

James Adcock has taken charge of 4 matches involving our club since his inclusion on the Football League Match Officials list. Two have been defeats, 5-3 away to Bournemouth, 3-2 away to Norwich with one victory 3-1 away at Rotherham. The other game was a 1-1 draw away at Fulham. In all of those games only 1 Cardiff player has been booked, Peter Whittingham in the away game at Fulham.

We only have two games left before the first "amnesty" of the season regarding suspensions for reaching 5 bookings. After the 30th November any player reaching 5 bookings will only receive a warning and not a one game ban. The next threshold for a ban wil be 10 bookings before before the 2nd Sunday in March.

At the moment Peter Whittingham has the most bookings with 3 so he will have to be booked against both Huddersfield and Villa to get a ban. We have 4 other players on 2 bookings but with the amnesty they are in no danger of a ban, except for being sent off.

One thing is clear when it comes to our games with James Adcock in charge, GOALS, and lots of them. I wonder what odds you could get on Cardiff winning 3-2, Whitts getting the first goal and no player getting booked.

Got to be worth a £. :thumbright:
