The club's fan engagement officer picked up the award at an event attended by BBC Radio 5 Live presenter Colin Murray

Cardiff City Football club has been recognised as offering the ‘Best Match Day Experience’ at the 2016 Football Business Awards.

Thursday 17th November 2016

At the prestigious ceremony held at Arsenal FC’s Emirates Stadium, the Bluebirds saw off a host of Premier League competition including Everton and Premier League Champions, Leicester City.

Cardiff City FC won the award after judges recognised its commitment to improving the matchday experience, of which fan engagement and an improvement in supporter relations and dialogue plays a critical part.

The judging panel considered a number of factors, including the nominated clubs’ excellence in customer service and efforts to enhance fan enjoyment for both home and away supporters. The quality and efficiency of services for fans, before and after kick-off, were all taken into account, along with the new Bluebirds’ new supporter-driven initiatives.

Cardiff City FC Executive Director & CEO Ken Choo said: “I want to thank the club’s staff for delivering the best match day service experience to our fans.

“There is nothing more satisfying to us than seeing our fans having a great time at the home of the Bluebirds. The process of improving the match day experience will not stop here either and the momentum will continue.”

The award was picked up by fan engagement manager Amy McNiven. McNiven was appointed to the role in February 2016 and has driven forward and extensive engagement strategy between the club, the community and supporters.

The Football Business Awards recognise the work taken place to support the success of the game and has become a significant national event. The awards this year were attended by Five Live presenter Colin Murray.

Cardiff City have encouraged the fans to contact the club with any suggestions, concerns or queries they may have using the email club@cardiffcityfc.co.uk.

Darren, I know city spent a large sum of the £200,000 on the away facilities, that was given to them when we were in Prem, but should of been given back to City fans on cheap away tickets,We treat away fans better than we treat our own fans.
