The BBC Price of Footballl survey reveals some interesting findings about the cost of following Cardiff City

Cardiff City Stadium has rarely been full this season

The annual Price of Football survey from BBC Sport has revealed following Cardiff City can offer excellent value — but only if you choose the right ticket.

The Bluebirds' cheapest ticket price offers the best value of any team in the Championship at £16, with many more adult matchday tickets available for £18 at Cardiff City Stadium.

That is despite the fact Bluebirds' season tickets are mid-range when it comes to the English second flight. The most expensive Bluebirds' season pass will set you back £519 — which, strangely, costs more than the same kind of ticket at Swansea — while the cheapest season ticket at Cardiff City Stadium costs £299.

The most expensive season seat in the division is at Ipswich Town, where you can pay as much as £842.

The cheapest is the £179 you can pay for a campaign's worth of matches at Wigan Athletic's DW Stadium or across the Pennines at Huddersfield Town.

Cardiff City:

Cheapest matchday ticket £18

Most expensive matchday ticket £34

Cheapest season ticket £299

Most expensive season ticket £519

Adult shirt £45

Child shirt £35

Matchday programme £3

Pie £3.70

Tea £2

The survey spells good news for Bluebirds' fans in terms of how prices have progressed over the years.

Last season, the lowest season ticket price at Cardiff City was £345, which represents a price cut of £46.

The cheapest matchday ticket in 2015 was £18 and even the cost of a pie has been cut from £3.70 to £3.40 and a cup of tea is now £1.90 (down 10p).

Away supporters tend to get decent value at CCS as well, with the cheapest adult away fan's ticket available for £22.

The results are a clear indication the club are trying to lure fans back to Cardiff City Stadium, after a dramatic drop in attendances since the club's relegation from the Premier League.
